We’re all making sacrifices thanks to quarantine and self-isolation, and we can hardly complain about it – it’s the best way to stay safe right now. But that doesn’t mean we don’t miss our old habits, like going to the gym, getting our hair and nails done, and eating out at restaurants.

One lady who was particularly missing her routine was an elderly grandmother, who wasn’t able to visit her hair salon for her regular root touch-ups. But instead of sitting and complaining about it, this grandmother took action, and asked her husband to dye her hair for her!

The moment was captured in a touching photograph by the couple’s grandson, Israeli Yael Shapira Avraham. He shared the image on Facebook, alongside the caption:

“These are my 92-year-old grandparents. In all situations, my grandfather is concerned about my grandmother feeling well cared for. We don’t see things like that every day.”

Of course, the internet couldn’t get enough of the cuteness of this 67-year married couple, and it didn’t take long for the photo to go viral, with the original post surpassing 60k likes.

The dying process couldn’t have been easy for this husband. Judging by the picture, he was doing the process the professional way, mixing the dye before carefully applying it to his wife’s head with a brush. It’s a process we’re used to having someone do for us – or until COVID-19 intervened, anyway.

The Israeli couple probably doesn’t know too much about dying hair, but they’re not perturbed. This is just another experience for them to go through together, and after so many years of marriage, Grandma probably trusts that Granddad will give it his best shot!

If this adorable picture isn’t the epitome of true love, we don’t know what is.

They might not be in a swanky salon setting, but they’re making do with what they’ve got. The elderly wife holds up a small mirror – probably to check that her husband is following her advice – and the husband has pegged a towel around her shoulders to prevent any drips onto her clothing.

There’s clearly a lot of love, respect, and patience between this couple; the true making of a perfect pairing. And these grandparents are certainly used to helping out! They have four children, ten grandchildren, and a whopping seven great-grandchildren. Self-isolation has probably given them a break like they’ve never had before.

Yael, who shared the image to Facebook, spoke to Bored Panda about his grandparents’ inseparable bond. He said:

“My grandfather always worried about seeing my grandmother well; the love between the two inspires our whole family. It was beautiful to see the image of my grandfather dying my grandmother’s hair because anyone can see in this photo the meaning of the true love.”

We certainly agree – this photo is a reminder that when someone loves someone, they won’t hesitate to do everything they can to make them happy.

There are some couples who are struggling to stay civil while they’re quarantined together at home. And then there’s this couple – 67 years together and still looking out for one another and using their time to bond. The best part is, the wife’s hair looks great!

This photograph sets an example for us all. We hope to see many more partners helping one another out during these uncertain times.
