Elderly man filled with joy as street busker sings and joins him in a dance to Nina Simone song

Born Eunice Kathleen Waymon in February 1993, Nina Simone was an incredibly talented singer, musician, songwriter, and arranger. While a lot of people know her for performing jazz, blues, and R&B, she was also gifted in other genres, including classical, pop, folk, and gospel. Along with her music, Nina remained a strong civil rights activist until her death in 2003.

A lot of artists perform Nina Simone songs.

One of these is a woman named DanDann. Although most of her music falls in the Easy Listening genre, she has a voice that’s perfect for performing Nina’s songs. While strolling down a busy street in Madrid, Spain, an elderly man spotted her as she belted out “My Baby Just Cares for Me.” He was immediately mesmerized. Swept up in the moment, he started to dance, moving his aging body to the rhythm of the music.

Focused solely on DanDann, the man didn’t notice an individual watching nearby.

The person on the sideline did more than just watch, he pulled out his phone and began to video the interaction. He then posted it on his Twitter account and everyone loved it. DanDann was also smitten by the man, so much so that she left her microphone and began dancing with him. The impromptu duo dance was incredibly touching.

Grooving together in the middle of the street.

DanDann and the elderly man didn’t seem to have a care in the world. They were too busy dancing, laughing, and truly enjoying the moment. Although the original post was in Spanish, it translated into a sweet street dance regardless of the language viewers spoke. Here were two total strangers moving to music that gapped generations.
