Emaciated dog breaks hearts on social media with big, worried eyes
The fearful eyes of an emaciated stray dog from Stray Rescue St. Louis are breaking the hearts of everyone who has seen them. The frightened pup was rescued on Thanksgiving Day by a Good Samaritan who noticed that she was too weak to stand.
The woman was on her daily walk when she noticed the dog. She recognized the dog needed help and called Stray Rescue of St. Louis after carrying them all the way home.
“This poor angel needs your prayers; we named her Hadley! She’s too weak to stand and has nearly starved to death. Hopefully we got her in time to turn this around,” the non profit organization posted on their Facebook page with the heartbreaking photos of the starving dog helplessly looking up at her rescuers.
The dog was named Hadley by the team at Stray Rescue of St. Louis. Even picking her head up was difficult for her at first. They started feeding her very small portions of food at first. This will be how Hadley is fed for a few weeks.
“Sweet Hadley, we are so sorry for the hell you’ve lived through. Your worried eyes tell us everything…”
The team at Stray Rescue of St. Louis has been posting to Facebook to update followers on Hadley’s condition.
“This girl has broken our hearts. Just lifting her head up is completely exhausting for her. We’ll feed her very slowly, and very small amounts for the next few weeks, as eating too much or too fast is extremely dangerous. Sweet Hadley, we are so sorry for the hell you’ve lived through. Your worried eyes tell us everything,” they wrote.

“Hadley is heading home with our wonderful vet tech, Emily! She’ll be able to give her plenty of cuddles and the TLC she so desperately needs. We’ll continue to update you on her progress,” Stray Rescue of St. Louis wrote on Facebook.
Thankfully, Hadley came into contact with a caring woman who took action.
