Cats are erroneously believed to be aloof and solitary creatures, who dislike attracting attention and don’t make friends easily.

This might be partly true, in the sense that cats crave the attention of only certain people and animals, but under particular conditions. It’s them who decide when, where, and with whom they will develop a bond, and that can be perceived as snobbish and standoffish behavior.

Another misconception is certainly that cats and dogs are mortal enemies. Unlike what many people believe, cats can be friends with dogs, but this requires time, exposure to each other, and a lot of patience.

It seems that Jasper and Coco’s owner showed a lot of patience and gave them the time they needed when they first met, and that’s how they ended up being best friends. The cat and dog, respectively, used to live under the same roof for years, and they shared a special friendship.

Coco, who is blind, not only got on well with its feline roomie, but it also received Jasper’s help when it comes to moving around when the environment is unfamiliar- the feline kind of became the dog’s eyes in situations like this.

All this until about a month ago, when their owner was obliged to relocate for a short period of time due to her job. The difficult decision that came with this relocation was what she should do with the pets.

After giving it some thought, the woman decided the wisest thing to do was take the dog with her.

Given Coco’s condition, she didn’t want to leave the canine behind, while she took Jasper to her daughter’s place where he would stay until mama was back.

A month later, it was time for a sweet reunion. The woman thought that it would be a good idea to record Jasper’s reaction when he saw his friend, so she grabbed the camera and waited for the emotional moment.

Weird thing is, that Jasper would sit by the back door and wait, all the while Coco was gone, as if he waited for the dog to appear. And that day he wasn’t wrong- Coco was indeed about to turn up soon!

As you can see in the video, the door opens at some point and the dog enters the house. Moments before this happened, Jasper looked tense, and didn’t want to be touched as if he was too excited about what was going to follow.

Once the two friends are reunited, you can observe that the cat won’t leave the doggie alone, but instead, he follows his feline buddy everywhere, while Coco is obviously happy too, the tail wagging non-stop!

Eventually, the two pets receive the cuddles and hugs of their owner, but a little later, they are still moving around the house, with Jasper always having Coco’s back like a bodyguard! It’s the cutest sight really!

It is so sweet to see animals sharing such strong and deep bonds, while it is a reminder that there should be no boundaries in love and friendship.
