Those who have the pleasure of being around them know that they are able to adjust to any environment. However, there are times when breaking the ice with felines take time. But, once a cat becomes your friend, it is certain that the he or she will be loyal, sweet and full of charm.

Ponies and cats can only be friends in cartoons, right?

Emma Massingale is a professional horse trainer who lives in Devon, England. She has a beautiful Connemara whom she fondly calls Comet. According to Wikipedia, a Connemara is:

“…a pony breed originating in Ireland. They are known for their athleticism, versatility and good disposition. The breed makes excellent show ponies.”

Emma is very hands-on and protective of her horses. She does not just let anyone ride on them unless, of course, it is Louis, her Siamese cat.

Louis and Comet are a good mix

Like coffee and creamer, these two animals go very well together. In fact, Louis would often ride on his best friend’s back for a stroll around town. He enjoys going out for rides and is especially satisfied to let his buddy do the leading.

Emma did not expect their routine to develop so quickly. As she told the Daily Mail:

“It all started when I was riding Comet and I would just tap my leg and Louis would jump on.

‘Now all I have to do is tap Comet’s back and Louis is straight there. He doesn’t need anymore encouragement than that.”

They take scenic routes

The odd pair’s routes almost look like they come from fantasy books. Together, they go through tree-lined paths and footbridges. Louis is not the biggest fan of rain nor of water. Thus, he definitely needs Comet to navigate through their town, which has streams all over

Emma went on a stroll with them to take a video of these cute BFF’s

One day, Emma decided to shoot this pair’s walk around town. She wanted to share how sweet and cute they were. When she finally showed the video to the world, many were delighted. As of this writing, the post has garnered over 6,000 likes and 1,300 comments. The viewers could not get enough of the odd couple!

These two only go out if Louis is in the mood. As Emma describes it:

“Louis rides whenever he likes really, sometimes just in the area sometimes he comes out for a longer wander.”

In spite of this, Louis is no brat. He knows that it takes much effort for Comet to wander around with him. This is especially true since the pony has to pace himself. He needs to make sure his feline buddy not lose his balance.

When the ride is over, this duo is found nuzzling together. Perhaps, this is Louis’ way of showing gratitude to his mane friend.

Aren’t these two adorable?
