People are sharing photos that prove sometimes genes hit 'copy+paste'

How much do you look like your mother, or father, or perhaps even a great grandpa or distant aunt?

Some of us have a few features from our parents or a unique blend of various family figures, but then there are others who basically look like mirror images of one particular relative!

One girl named Shelby recently took to Twitter to share a side-by-side comparison of herself and her grandma, showing how identical they look and triggering a wave of tweets from other users sharing their own photos in a similar style. Here are some of our favorites!

1) The One That Started It All


This is the original side-by-side tweet from Shelby. Obviously, she wore a similar sweater and beret to recreate her grandma’s look, but the similarities between the pair are undeniable! You could easily make the mistake of thinking that they were the exact same girl.

2) Like Looking In A Mirror


Wow! They might have pretty different styles and hair colors, but this mother and child have pretty much the exact same face. It’s uncanny!

3) The Same Face


This girl cleverly combined half of a photo of her own face with half of an old black and white photo of her grandma sitting in a similar position. When you see the two together, it’s amazing to spot all of the similarities.

4) Ready For The Big Day


Believe it or not, these two photos show totally different people! On the right, we can see a girl getting ready for prom, and on the left, we can see her mother preparing for her wedding day, many years ago.

5) Genes Are Crazy


Here’s another amazing side-by-side, showing just how crazy genes can be. It seems like DNA just decided to copy and paste some of these people into existence!

6) Just Like Papa


Here’s one of a young man and his father. The fact that they’re both wearing suits and have similar hairstyles really enhances the effect, but there’s no denying the similarities in their facial features.

7) Extraordinary!


Larraine here looks so much like her grandma, it’s simply unbelievable. They have basically the same face, and it’s amazing to see how sometimes genes seem to skip a generation like that.

8) Very Similar


This girl and her mom have a really similar look. They even seem to have the same taste in glasses!

9) Twins


This girl and her mama are so similar, they basically look just like identical twin sisters.

10) Very Class Gentlemen


This man and his grandfather both have a very elegant appearance and clearly look great in a suit!

11) Runs In The Family


Sometimes, as this photo shows, it’s not just one kid who wins the genetic jackpot and looks just like one of their family members. In this case, for example, both this girl and her brother have an almost identical facial structure to their father.

12) Same Look, Same Everything


Not only does this girl look just like her grandma, she also apparently has the same behavior and way of talking too. Wow!

13) Like Mother, Like Son


This super cute photo shows a mama and her son and we can instantly see the resemblance between them.

14) Every Generation


This set of photos shows a girl, her mother, and her grandma all lined up. The similarities from one generation to the next are amazing!

15) He’s Back!


This one is incredible too, showing how this guy looks just like a painting of one of his old relatives. He’s got all the same facial features, including the nose, the eyes, and that strong, distinctive jawline.
