If you see someone that needs help and you’re able to help, you help them.

It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure it out and it’s not a heroic feat.

It’s just what most people do. Or at least that’s how Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones sees it.

“I was just doing what anybody else would do,” Jones told PACKERSNEWS.com.

What Jones did couldn’t have been less extraordinary.

But in a world where we are constantly led to believe that there is less good in the world than bad, some might have seen it that way, even when it isn’t true.

Jones had just arrived at Appleton International Airport when he found out an elderly passenger from his flight needed help with a wheelchair.

There weren’t any employees immediately there to push her through the airport after she got off their flight from Chicago.

Instead of having the woman wait, Jones took it upon himself to wheel the senior citizen through the airport so she could meet her family who was waiting on the other side of the gate.

Jones’ act of kindness was spotted by a fan who snapped a photo of it and posted it on Twitter.

“Just watched Packers Aaron Jones push a random lady through the Appleton airport because there was no[one] there to push her. GO PACK GO!” Monica Allen, who goes by Momica on Twitter, wrote in her post.

Her post ended up going viral and was retweeted over 3,000 times and liked more than 17,000 times.

Even the woman’s granddaughter saw it.

“That’s my grandma!” Teresa Lingg Knuth tweeted at Allen.

Jones explained that he first helped the woman with her bags when the plane landed.

“A lady was sitting next to me, across the row when we were getting off the plane (and) I saw she needed help with her bags,” Jones said. “She had a cane, she was dragging her bags, and I was like, ‘Do you need help?’”

“And she said yes, so I started carrying her bags and when we were walking off the plane, the flight attendant told her that there would be somebody there to push her with a wheelchair. There were wheelchairs when we walked, but nobody was there, and the wheelchairs were folded up. So I asked if she wanted me to push her and she said yes. I pushed her down to where her daughter was.”

The woman he helped, 82-year-old Nancee Lingg, realized he was a famous NFL player about halfway to the gate.

“You could tell she got excited, and it made me happy. But I didn’t know anybody had taken a picture until I got home and got on Twitter,” Jones said.

Jones’ coach Mike McCarthy was thrilled about the positive media attention the incident garnered and even more thankful for his team.

“Well, I’ll tell you, it brings a big smile to my face when it comes across my phone,” McCarthy said. “I’ll just say about Aaron Jones and our players: I’m thankful that everybody else is getting to see what I get to see pretty much every day. I mean, this is a tremendous locker room. We’ve been very fortunate and blessed with the caliber of character that we have in our locker room.”
