Research shows farting in front of a partner strengthens and improves relationships
Farting is a normal and natural bodily function, even if it is often regarded as embarrassing. It’s a byproduct of a working digestive system.
In reality, farting is beneficial and good for your health.
But, did you know that farting in front of your partner leads to a longer and healthier relationship?
Relationships are all about achieving milestones. Meeting the parents, celebrating anniversaries, getting engaged, the blessing of a bundle of joy…
If you’ve spent a lot of time with your partner, or even slept over a few times, you’ve probably felt the need to “let one rip.” Holding in your gasses, on the other hand, maybe detrimental to your health and cause excruciating pain.
According to Healthline:
“From time to time, you may want to hold in gas to suppress flatulence when you’re in a room with others. But holding in gas too frequently can actually irritate the colon. It may also irritate hemorrhoids.”
Releasing gas is always better than holding it in. Don’t be afraid to let out those farts!
Farting in front of a significant other can be embarrassing and unnatural at first.
Truth is, the average person farts 14 to 23 times every day!
“You may experience slightly fewer or even more, depending on what you eat and your lifestyle,” Healthline mentioned.
The controversial New York-based relationship expert Powell claimed during an interview on the influential Irish Late Late TV chat show.
Powell mostly provides relationship advice to the wealthy, but you don’t have to be wealthy to follow her advice!
She shared:
“Once couples get over the initial embarrassment of farting in front of a new partner, it seems to open up a whole new period of openness, honesty and trust.”
Couples who pass through this stage, which can be described as a large part of one’s intimate and personal space, enter the next and deeper stage of their relationships. The sooner you complete this task, the more likely you will remain together and live healthier lives.
A little fart, like laughing, crying, or binge eating a packet of potato chips, is one of those things that should be considered normal.
Powell may not have a medical degree, but she is a relationship genius! She’s also quite witty!
“Ok, so I’m no gastrointestinal expert but I imagine lying in bed for a few hours and after indulging in marathon horizontal jogging — as all new couples do, must surely get the gases bubbling. And as they say, in a relationship you should never bottle anything up.”
Her theory is completely logical.
Everyone farts, so why not fart with the one you love and care about the most?
So, the next time one of you lets loose, think of it as a ‘love puff,’ and consider it a healthy part of your relationship.
