Graduating high school is one of the most monumental times in a person’s life. You never forget those (sometimes embarrassing) cap and gown pictures with family and friends.

But this father-daughter duo put all of our graduation photos to shame with an adorable reenactment. In May of 2018, Tori Roach was graduating high school at Huntsville High School in Texas. She was thrilled to celebrate her accomplishment with the family and friends that have supported her along the way.

Tori’s special graduation day seemed like a perfect time to honor her father. Recreating her father’s very own high school graduation picture while he’s holding and kissing baby Tori in his green cap and gown. The throwback photograph will melt your heart completely.18 years later, Tori recreated that precious picture on her graduation day with her dad holding her up and kissing her on the cheek.

Sweet Reminiscing

Tori later posted the two images side by side on Twitter and it blew up over social media. Tori told PEOPLE,

“I’m from a small town and nothing like that ever happens over here. I didn’t expect it to blow up like that! Once it started happening, I was like, β€˜Oh my gosh!’ I called my family and I was like, β€˜Everyone’s sharing the pictures!'”

Watch she thought would be a simple and sweet post turned into a viral sensation in no time.

Tori’s picture has had over 63 thousand shares on Twitter and even a year later continues to be retweeted.

While looking through piles of baby pictures for Tori’s graduation that’s when they found this gem of her and her father. It couldn’t have been more meant to be to find such a touching photograph. A girl’s father is supposed to her first love and hero. But sometimes fatherhood can be difficult raising a daughter and not wanting them to grow up at the same time. Tori explained the photo brought them closer than ever before, saying,

β€œIt brought me and my dad closer in a way because we could share that moment, and I feel that not many other people get to experience that.”

This special moment Tori and her father were able to share will always be cherished. Tori has continued her education at Sam Houston State University and will be ready to recreate that very same image in 2022 when she graduates from there.

Due to COVID-19 2020 graduates have had to celebrate virtually.

Instead of walking across the stage to shake hands with the principal, graduates are walking across their living rooms. All accomplishments just as equal but unfortunately celebrated a little bit differently, which will certainly never be forgotten. Graduating high school or college for that matter is no easy feat and accomplishments like that deserve to be captured with at least one photograph.

As for Tori and her father Dennis, we’re so happy they were able to recreate such a beautiful moment.
