Dad immediately jumps over a pool fence to rescue drowning 1-year-old in the water

Being a parent is the toughest and the most rewarding job at the same time. One of the worst nightmares of a parent is that your child is in danger in any way, shape, or form, and it’s perfectly normal that moms and dads are very protective of their kids. Of course, little ones are very curious people and love to go on adventures, especially when they start to learn how to walk.

At younger ages, babies and toddlers don’t really have a sense of danger and can’t really comprehend when they should or shouldn’t be doing something. That often leads to perilous situations, which is why it’s important to always keep a close eye on your kids as a parent, especially if they’re still quite young. Of course, it’s not always easy to do so.

Sometimes, dangerous circumstances just happen – and parents will do everything in their power to protect their little loved ones from danger.

That’s exactly what happened to this dad and his one-year-old son, who was clearly struggling in the pool. Dad made quite the save and took a serious dive to get in the pool as soon as possible, and the footage has now been seen around the world.

The little one-year-old boy named Rocco Passavanti was just hanging out with his family at a pool house in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Evidently, he’s still way too young to be swimming, but he fell in the water by accident when he tried to chase a colorful beach ball.

A home security camera managed to capture the entire incident on tape, and it just shows how dangerous situations like these can happen in just a blink.

Rocco’s family had set up a gate at the poolside, but the little boy was still interested in the beach ball in the water. Dad was sitting at a table just a couple of feet away and was keeping a close eye on his baby boy as he walked beside the pool the get the ball.

The toddler was getting too close to the edge of the pool, and dad immediately yelled at him to be careful and take some distance.

The 18-month-old boy, however, didn’t really listen to his dad’s warnings.

He tried to grab the beach ball and managed to fall into the pool.

The little boy didn’t have any protection such as a floatation device, and couldn’t swim. Luckily, there was someone else in the pool, but it was still a very dangerous situation.

In potentially life-threatening situations like these, your natural instincts as a parent just kick in and they only have one goal: get your child out of harm’s way.

What happened next could’ve come straight out of a movie: dad jumped out of his chair and leaped over the 4-foot fence to take a dive in the pool and save Rocco.

The images really speak for themselves, there was not a single moment of hesitation and the impressive dive was done purely out of instinct.

The 4-foot tall fence definitely was quite a hurdle and difficult for a person to dive over, but dad Albert managed to dit it while barely touching the fence – definitely a spectacular rescue.

“Anybody can do that. Anybody can jump over a fence, you know. A kid’s in trouble. You know, you’ve got to get to them as quickly as you possibly can,” Albert told Inside Edition.

Because this video has been seen so many times online, Albert hopes this footage can encourage parents to keep an eye on their little ones all the time. If there was nobody here sitting beside the pool, this could’ve ended very very differently.

“You just absolutely have to keep an eye on your kids. I don’t care what measures you put in place. Tragedy can happen,” he concluded.
