Kelly, Reba, and Trisha’s rendition of ‘Soft and Tenderly’ has some calling it ‘best ever done’

Country music singers need to be recognized more.

Rare are the instances where country music artists resort to autotune or other means of tweaking their music.

Everything about country music is so authentic – the meaningful lyrics, the fun or melancholic blend of instruments, and the strong, clear singing voices.

Country music fans and even non-fans will surely appreciate this performance by country music’s greatest.

In-person and online audiences were treated to a touching song number by none other than Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood, and Kelly Clarkson – otherwise known as the powerhouse trio we never knew we needed.

This wasn’t your typical performance – it was about praising God with their talent and inspiring many others.

The song “Softly and Tenderly” was written in 1880 by Will L. Thompson.

The songwriter was so touched by the teachings from Dwight L. Moody’s evangelistic meeting that it moved him to write gospel songs after.

The music truly reflects God’s love and peace.

When Dwight L. Moody was on his deathbed, he couldn’t resist commending Thompson for the beautiful gospel song.

“Will, I would rather have written ‘Softly and Tenderly Jesus Is Calling’ than anything I have been able to do in my whole life.”

This is the power of faith and talent – it remains, even as decades pass.

The number didn’t involve flashy costumes, bright and colorful lights, props, and other effects you would typically see in a concert.

Nevertheless, the ladies, despite being slightly dressed down, still looked wonderful.

Reba’s look could be described as understated country glamour, while Trisha and Kelly went the more casual route which made them all the more endearing and relatable.

The music filled the room, and the voices blended in perfect harmony.

“Come home, come home, ye who are weary, come home. Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling. Calling, ‘O sinner, come home.'”

It was a beautiful reminder that God is greater than even the worst sin man could possibly commit.

If anything, it felt like a gentle nudge to find one’s way back while leaving guilt and shame in the hands of God.

Humility can do so much.

If you feel that what you’ve done has taken you so far from God that there’s simply no way to redeem yourself, please think again.

God sees your heart and loves you despite your wrongdoings.

The first steps toward God’s love and mercy involve humbling one’s self, praying for forgiveness, and resolving to do better, and the best part is, all of that need not be done with any pressure or shame looming over you.

Reba, Trisha, and Kelly spread the message so beautifully.

Singing with smiles on their faces, it was evident that they, too, truly believed in what they were singing.

It doesn’t take much from anyone to sing praises to God and thank Him for all He’s done.

It was through this stellar performance that everyone was reminded of the power of gratitude and humility and how merciful God truly is.
