Fully grown figure skater dazzles on ice with a fun and lighthearted routine

You’re never too old to have fun.

While most people say “life begins at 40”, I’d say life begins every single day.

Sure there are age limits for certain things but fun is definitely not one of those.

You are always free to do what your heart truly desires and you should never allow anyone to tell you you can’t do something.

Live the gift of life to the fullest and that is by doing what you love and showing everyone you are worth their while just like what this woman did.

Meet Jocelyn Delmar.

She will prove to us all that age is just a number. She’s a figure skater who doesn’t want to impress, but express.

This video of Delmar’s performance was taken during the 2021 US Adult Championships under the Championship Adult Silver Ladies Freestyle category.

She’s set to do her routine to Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass.”

Is her performance going to be a pop or a flop? You be the judge.

The audience thundered.

Right as she enters the ice rink, you’d hear people loudly cheering for her. It’s almost safe to say they know they’re in for a wonderful show.

As soon as the music starts, Delmar goes off with her cheeky intro moves. Shortly after, she begins gliding gracefully while showing off some fancy acrobatic stunts.

She goes for a one-leg spin all the while incorporating her routine with some dance movements.

As the music progresses, so do her stunts as she wows everyone with two consecutive axel umps, but of course, the adult way.

You’d notice, whenever she does her moves the crowd also goes with their energetic cheers for the jolly adult figure skater.

The roots of figure skating.

Actually, figure skating dates all the way back, even earlier than ball sports.

According to Britannica:

“A Treatise on Skating (1772) by Robert Jones, an Englishman, is apparently the first account of figure skating. The sport had a cramped and formal style until American Jackson Haines introduced his free and expressive techniques based on dance movement in the mid-1860s. Although popular in Europe, Haines’s style (called the International style) did not catch on in the United States until long after he had died at the age of 35.”

Although there’s no telling if Delmar is a professional figure skater or was, during her younger years, still, there’s no denying she knows how to play with the audience and have fun on the ice.

She threw some sass on it.

Mid-point of her performance, she stops in the middle and amuses everyone with her sassy dance moves. I think she just wants to have fun and spread good vibes to her competitors and to the crowd who are obviously enjoying the show.

She ends in endless spins.

She ended her performance with what it looks like endless spins, you’d even notice her struggling to keep her balance while doing it.

But Delmar is indeed a performer, she tried keeping her composure and gives everyone a performance that’s definitely worth their short while.

Delmar scored 22.99 points and bagged 11th place out of 34 skaters.

She didn’t just win a spot in the competition but also a spot in our hearts.
