For the last several years, the fires have raged like never before, destroying all in their path.

Andrea Gaylord and the rest of her family had no choice but to evacuate their home as a wildfire swept through their town.

But in the rush, they couldn’t find their dogs, Madison and Miguel. They looked all over their home, but they were nowhere to be found. At the last possible second, they gave up the search and drove away from the approaching flames. They assumed that the fire had scared off the dogs.

That night, in the evacuation zone, the family prayed that their dogs and their home would be spared. But they didn’t hold out much hope.

Over the next few days, the family got a small bit of good news. Shayla Solven, an animal rescuer, had found Miguel and taken him to safety. But there was no sign of Madison. The next day, Shayla would return Miguel to the family.

After a long month of waiting, the family was told that they could return to their home. With a feeling of dread they drove back, hoping that everything would be fine.

When they arrived, to their horror, they discovered that their family home and all of their possessions had been destroyed.

They started crying, realizing that their struggle was not at all over. But then they saw something miraculous.

Next to the wreckage of the home, Madison was sitting and waiting patiently. So the family got out of their car, and the dog started running back to them. And the dog had never been happier to see his family.

Madison was completely unharmed. Miraculously, the dog had withstood the fire, the smoke and the carnage.

But Madison may not have survived if it weren’t for the hard work of the rescuers. They had left out food and water in the danger zones in the hopes that any lost dogs would be able to find it. And the rescue workers had tried several times to locate and save Madison, without success. But the food was being eaten, giving the rescue workers hope.

Just before the family could return, one rescue worker, Shayla, asked Andrea to give her an item of clothing. This was so that she could use the shirt’s scent to attract the dog. Shayla placed the clothing where the house had been. Amazingly, it worked.

But the happiest family member to see Madison again was Miguel. The two dogs are brothers and best friends and do everything together. The family saw that Miguel was incredibly depressed without Madison. But now, after a whole month of not knowing if his brother had survived, Miguel was back with Madison.

The family, who momentarily had been devastated, were filled with hope once more.

They knew that they could get a new home and replace many of the things they had lost. The important thing was that they were all safe.

The family is currently staying in an RV park. It’s incredibly cramped. But they know that with their insurance money, they can get another place where everyone is safe and secure.
