Being a fireman is an incredibly important job. But what do they get up to between emergencies? This video offers a glimpse.
Orting Valley Fire & Rescue’s firefighters work hard and play harder. One day, they decided to all come together and make a tribute video to the Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars song Uptown Funk like no other.
The video began with a firefighter lying in bed singing along to the song.
The shot then cut to another firefighter operating a fire truck. He also sang along with the music.
Next up was a firefighter on a tractor. He drove past firetrucks while singing and holding an amp.
Then a fireman burst out of a compartment at the back of an ambulance and walked through the station while singing.
Then the shot cut to a cleaner mopping up the bathroom floor while singing.
Soon, a firefighter was dancing and singing in front of a firetruck, looking every bit like a rock and roll star.
Back indoors, a firewoman sang into her phone, letting whoever was on the other end know that Uptown Funk was gonna give it to them. Then she hung up and span around on her chair.
Next, two firefighters showed off their musical talent by playing some trumpets in front of their ambulance.
The music had really gotten to the next firefighter, who was standing on top of a firetruck and dancing around with a chainsaw.
Then the camera followed a firefighter on a stretcher as another firefighter pulled it back between the firetrucks.
In the fire station kitchen, an older firefighter danced around with some hot sauce.
Then a large group of the firefighters danced around one of their trucks.
Next, a group of firefighters sat around a patient on a stretcher. They all started dancing. Clearly, the song was helping the patient get through his ailment.
Then one fireman demonstrated the company gym, using a bunch of different equipment in a succession of quick shots.
Lastly, the fire station mascot danced around, showing off his moves to the world.
Once all this footage was edited together into a fun video, it found its way onto YouTube. In no time, it had gone viral. To date, the video has gained over 5.1 million views. It also has more than 11,000 likes and 450 comments. People have been saying things like this:
Orting Valley Fire & Rescue is based in Washington State. It protects a community of 14,000 people.
One of the organization’s core values is to “effectively serve through education and positive interaction.” The Uptown Funk video really shows that the members really go above and beyond with the positive interaction message!
Of course, fire departments all over the world deserve the same respect and admiration as Orting Valley Fire & Rescue. Not all fire departments have the time to make such a fun video, but all of them work hard to keep their communities safe!
