Firefighters accept the challenge and set the internet on fire with their sizzling moves
Turns out there weren’t any fires in Paris, Texas the week this video was made. The boys down at the firehouse had some downtime and figured that make a slammin’ music video. No way this was the vision of one man. They all contributed to one of the most creative lip-sync music videos I’ve seen.
The video opens up with the firemen all sleeping in their beds at the firehouse.
The video is shot to make you think you are going into the dream world of each of the guys. So here we go… into the first dream! The first song is Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking ball”, and the boys are off lip-syncing away.
I would have never guessed they would choose “wrecking ball”, but as soon as the chorus hits “you came in like a wrecking ball,” and a shirtless fireman is swinging on an actual wrecking ball, it all makes sense.
After the chorus finishes, we head back to reality and the boys are still sleeping. Into the next one’s dream…
It’s time for some good country music up next with George Strait’s “The Fireman”. The driver of the firetruck starts out singing and then the camera pans to the back seat. Just two firemen singing along as they cruise down the highway.
Time for some dancing!
The video goes into Imagine Dragons song “Thunder”. Now we have a whole group of hunks dancing and singing together. They turn on the hoses for this scene, so get ready for some guys in wet clothes. They also include the firehouse mascot in this dance. Turns out they have more than just bravery and firefighting skills. Wow!
After this moment in the video, its time to address the classic rivalry of policemen vs firemen. One of the guys is shaving in the mirror and asks “what do the police really think of us?” Into the dream we go…
To the track “Hero” by Foo Fighters, a couple of police officers are radaring for speeding drivers. A firetruck drives by and the officers point and sing “There goes my hero.”
I guess we know how the firemen view themselves. Haha.
We’re not quite done yet, and these guys know how to save the best for the last. You know these guys have courage when one of them shows up in a tutu and dances to the song “Barbie Girl” by Aqua. He dances around the firehouse, rolls on beds and puts on a good show.
Until he enters the garage, where all the guys are hanging out. The music stops with a scratch on a record and the fireman seems a bit embarrassed to be caught.
At the end of the video, the firemen thank the local police department for challenging them to create this great video production.
They then proceed to issue the same challenge to other fire departments in North Texas and Arizona. So I guess there will be more from our first responders in the future.
With over 1.9 million views and 10k ‘likes’ on this lip-sync video, we should be seeing plenty more anytime.
These guys from Paris, Texas have set the bar pretty high but I hope the other departments can outdo them on the challenge.
