Do you believe in love at first sight?

Sure, it’s easy to dismiss that this spontaneous pull is nothing but temporary. But sometimes, it’s a blatant call-out from the universe.

One can call it fate, but then again, we can only end up with the things destined for us if we act on them – much like this flight attendant from Germany.

Olivia Sievers is never a stranger to Argentina.

After all, it was one of her destinations as a flight attendant. However, in one of her travels, she never thought she’d experience love at first sight.

The “love” wasn’t from here, though. It was from something that caught a glimpse of her character. It was an encounter that will change her life forever.

Sievers went to Argentina to visit a friend.

Then, she noticed a friendly street dog around the area of the hotel where she was staying. The dog isn’t new to the neighborhood.

Named by Sievers as Rubio, the dog seemed comfortable around people and was gentle to those who approach him. Having a soft spot for dogs, Sievers gave Rubio some food.

She also played with Rubio for a little while then she said goodbye.

It was not the last time they’ll see each other. Since the first time they met, Rubio waited outside the Hilton Hotel in Puerto Madero.

Whenever she leaves, Rubio followers her. Whenever she comes back, he stays right outside the hotel. Sievers even mentioned to The Dodo that she tried changing her path so Rubio won’t follow her.

No matter how hard she tried, Rubio succeeded in staying.

“He always came back and followed me. I tried one hour, but he always watched me and followed me. He was really happy that somebody gave him attention.” She said to the animal channel The Dodo.

Since the dog doesn’t want to go inside the hotel, Sievers just gave the dog an airline blanket so he could keep warm while staying outside.

She then went back to Germany.

However, when she found herself back in Argentina, she noticed a familiar face greeting her. It had been quite some time but Rubio never forgot.

From then on, whenever Sievers visit Argentina, Rubio would be at the same spot at the same hotel. Sievers can’t stay, however, because her home is on the other side of the ocean. She then contacted a rescue group to find a family for Rubio.

Rubio escaped. At that point, they all knew who Rubio wanted to be with.

Sievers then arranged for Rubio to be formally adopted by her.

She made the necessary arrangements and the paperwork. For this logistical fleet, she coordinated with a local rescue shelter so they can fulfill all the requirements – government and financial.

Then, the long-awaited update from the rescue shelter arrived. On their post, Mascotas Puerto Madero Adopciones Responsables showed Rubio in a crate. The caption said that Rubio arrived in Germany and was 4 hours away from reuniting with her best friend.

Rubio is now living with Sievers on a farm with two other dogs. And this time, Rubio isn’t waiting for Sievers to leave. He now waits for her to come back to him.
