It is always so easy to tune out information we feel like we have heard before. With our time and attention being worn thin, there is always a reason to not pay attention to the routine things that happen in our lives. That’s where humor comes in.

Southwest airlines are known for incorporating humor into their flight attendant safety speeches! They may have given one of their funniest of all time with this one!

Being a frequent flyer, I have a bad habit of tuning out the flight attendants when they are giving the safety check. They could be telling me that this aircraft has no bathrooms and I wouldn’t realize until I got up and tried to use one.

Using humor is a great way to get people to take their headphones off.

What these two attendants did was incredibly funny! Maybe even funny enough to get the 15-year-olds on the flight to take their headphones and listen to the safety information.

On a flight to New York, Robert the flight attendant has everyone rolling in their seats with his safety speech!

Starting the basic information of the pilot and staff on this particular flight, everything seems pretty standard for what a normal flight looks like.

In the event that you have not been in an automobile since 1942…

The first joke that really gets people warmed up is with the seatbelt announcement. It is typical for the attendant to show you how to buckle your seatbelt, but Robert takes it a step further!

“In the event that you have not been in an automobile since 1942, we are gonna show you how to fasten a seatbelt. Do this. To unfasten it, do that.”

Hilariously poking fun of the archaic regimen, they continue in their comedy.

“The seatbelt needs to be low and tight across your hips, just like the hot pink speedo I’m wearing tonight when we get to the hotel hot tub.”

One of the funny aspects of the jokes is that it reminds you that the attendants are human. They are looking forward to the end of the flight just as much as the passengers are!

From love flight to romantic cruise.

One of the most self-aware jokes that are made is when giving instructions for the life-vest procedures.

“In the event that the pilot decides to turn the flight into a cruise this evening…”

Nobody wants to consider going down in an aircraft, but the humorous approach really allows people to laugh at the safety precautions.

In the event of an emergency, find the liquor kit.

While explaining what to in case of an emergency landing, Robert explains that you can always recognize who is cabin staff from who is carrying around the liquor kit!

For those of you who must smoke, we do have two options for you.

Locating the smoking locations as “the left-wing and the right-wing” reminds everyone that there is no smoking on the aircraft. Robert does offer a challenge for anyone who is able to get their cigarette lit while standing on the wings of the aircraft and applause if they do manage.

While safety isn’t always fun, these guys make it hilarious.

“Tampering with the smoke detectors will result in a fine of $2200. We all know that if you had that kind of money, you would be flying American Airlines. “

I sure would prefer some humor in my boring routines! Amassing over 14 million views, it appears that some other people would as well.
