The name of this video is “Funniest Flight Attendant Ever.” Do you agree with that title? Many people do.

The passengers of this Southwest Airlines flight filed onboard, not expecting it to be anything special. They were wrong.

A flight attendant spoke on the intercom. He wished the passengers the “top of the evening.” Then what followed was an ordinary introduction. He named the pilots and the other attendants.

But when he asked passengers to pay attention to the safety demonstrations, things got weird. He said that for anyone who hadn’t been in a vehicle since 1942, he was going to show them how to fasten their seatbelts.

Then he started incorporating some of his personal life into the demonstration:

“That seatbelt needs to be low and tight across your hips, just like the hot pink Speedo I’m wearing tonight when we get to the hotel hot tub.”

The entire cabin laughed now. A few had enjoyed the “1942” joke, but everyone seemed to like this new joke.

Even though everyone was reacting warmly to the attendant’s jokes, the man advised the passengers that if they didn’t like them, there were six ways out of the airplane.

He then told the passengers that if the captain wanted to turn the flight “into a cruise this evening,” there were life vests for everyone under the seats.

When it came time for the other attendants to walk through the cabin to check that all the baggage was in the right place, the intercom attendant said that this was because the staff did not trust the passengers and that the staff all had trust issues. That basically what’s happening when airline staff members do this, but that sure is quite a way to phrase it!

As the attendant was talking about the decompression oxygen masks, he scored possibly his biggest laughs of the speech:

“For those of you traveling with your children, why?”

He then said that if parents were traveling with two of their children, they should “put the mask on the bright one.”

His reasoning was that the smarter one would be contributing to their retirement funds most successfully.

He ended his speech with a special song: “We love you. You love us. We’re much faster than the bus. We hope you’ll enjoy our hospitality. Marry one of us, and you’d fly free!”

The passengers all started clapping at this. Clearly, everyone was glad that they had heard the boring old flight safety speech in such a fun and original way.

The person who filmed this video usually uploads video game-related content. But he realized that this footage needed to be seen by as many people as possible.

So he put it on his YouTube channel. In no time at all, it had gone viral. To date, it has gained over 14 million views. It also has more than 265,000 likes and 7,700 comments. People have been saying things like this:

People like this flight attendant show us why it’s important to add a little humor to all our jobs.

Sure, there’s no requirement to be funny, but when you are, it can brighten up people’s days. No one on that flight would forget this unique safety demo for a while!
