NFL player heard on mic looking for his mama in the crowd

If youâre lucky enough to have a great mom, you know youâre never too old or too tough to find her presence comforting. If you think weâre wrong, go ahead and take it up with Jerome Baker, Jr.
Weâll wait.

A video of the 22-year-old Miami Dolphins linebacker went viral in early November because Baker was micâd during the game for NFL Films and Showtimeâs Inside the NFL â and he could be heard repeatedly asking for his mama.
Both venues shared the sweet and hilarious video which has now been watched by millions.

It turns out Baker had sent his mother, Theodora, a ticket to the game, but he wasnât sure if she was going to make it.
She had flown in from Cleveland for the weekend and was staying in his home (so he did see her that day before the game), but he was really hoping she made it to the game to see them winning.

She had previously come to town for the teamâs home opener, where they got blown out by the Baltimore Ravens.
Throughout the game, he had been scanning the crowd looking for her but didnât see her face. Thatâs when he started asking about her on the sidelines.
âBro, where is my mamaâ he yells to a teammate frustratedly.

He even stops singing the Dolphinsâ fight song on the sidelines a bit later to wonder about her out loud yet again.
In fact, he couldnât stop asking âwhere is my mama?â He was caught asking himself the question so many times that The NFL Network put together a montage of all the clips of him asking about her.
When they put it out on Twitter, Baker said he was âdying laughingâ when he saw it. He had completely forgotten that he was micâd.

Hey, what can we say, itâs hard to make out a single face in such a big crowd of people.
âIt was just funny. You donât realize how many times I was saying it, but I was saying it so much. The video made it funnier,â Baker said. âIt was like the whole game, I was saying, âWhereâs my mom? Whereâs my mom?â It was just a funny moment I didnât realize, but I was definitely looking for my mom a lot.â

Oh, and most importantly, he found her.
Theodora made it to the game to see her sonâs team win their first victory of the season. The two locked eyes during a key play when Baker was on a part of the field near her seat.
âI was so close so I could see peoplesâ faces. So when I found her, she was waving at me, and I waved back. I finally found her. Everything worked out.â

The only reason she might have missed it was that she had been planning to make a big, homemade meal for her son and he was worried that she had stayed home to prepare it for him instead of coming to the game.
We canât help but smile at the moment Baker turns to his teammate at the end of the video to say âI found my mama.â
