Four party-loving ducks go on an adventure ending in the back of a police car

When someone gets called a “party animal” what animal do you think they’re being compared to? This story shows that ducks are actually the true party animals.

Even the most responsible people have had those nights. You know the ones. You and your friends went out and went a little too crazy with all the fun on offer.

That means that everyone can relate to the four ducks in this story. Technically, they have an owner. But they can still be wild when they want to be.

One Fourth of July weekend, the ducks were happily at their home in Great Bend, Pennsylvania. But then they apparently got bored and decided to paint the town red.

So they escaped from their pen and wandered into town. Eventually, the ducks stopped a mile away from their home at a gas station.

In fact, the ducks decided to hang out at the gas station for good.

However, the manager of the gas station eventually noticed the ducks and the fact that they were distressing the customers.

So the manager called up the local cops, who apparently had nothing better to do.

Soon, the cops arrived to bust the ducks for loitering.

Sadly, the ducks became quite a challenge for the cops to deal with.

Every time the cops approached them, the ducks would waddle away. Naturally, the cops had trouble keeping up with the animals. (If only someone had told them that ducks like food!)

Eventually, the cops were able to apprehend the ducks and place them in the back of the police car.

One of the gas station employees recognized the ducks and gave the cops the owner’s number.

The cops called up Cindy Osiecki, the owner. Osiecki had noticed that her ducks were missing and thanked the cops for securing them.

Soon, Osiecki arrived at the gas station and transferred the ducks from the cop car to her car.

She has since upgraded the ducks’ enclosure, ensuring that they will be unable to stretch the Great Bend Police Department to its limits again.

Of course, anyone who owns ducks needs to give them a good home.

The most important thing is to try and make it so that no duck lives alone. Ducks are social animals.

That means they should have at least one other duck with them to truly be happy. But if you take in a duck and absolutely can’t take on a second, then you can always do a few other things to make them feel like they are around other ducks. For instance, you can add a mirror to their enclosure (an old CD makes a perfect mirror.) Or you could play recordings of duck sounds.

Also, ducks enjoy foraging for food, so make it a challenge for them to get to some of their food.

For instance, you could put their feed inside Wiffle balls or among leaves.

And of course, you need to give your ducks access to water. Everyone knows that ducks love water. So give them a pond to paddle about in.

If you give your ducks a happy home, they’ll never get the idea to venture into town, like Cindy Osiecki’s ducks.
