Dogs touch the lives of many. They are so cute, especially when they are puppies, that few can resist their charm. This includes older dogs who might necessarily tolerate a more energetic younger dog. That is not the case with a little French bulldog, named Levi.

In fact, Levi formed an unlikely friendship with an older and much larger dog.

In a video of the two together, Levi can be seen facing off with Great Dane named Shelby. Much larger than Levi, Shelby acted like Levi’s surrogate mom when he was growing up. She loved Levi so much that she would even let him nip her on her face.

In some cases, an older dog might react negatively when treated in this manner, but not Shelby. She would take Levi’s little nips like a boss, allowing him to tug and pull at her face with little to no reaction on her part.

Levi seemed to trust Shelby from the start, seeming to sense that she meant him no harm, even though she was way bigger than him. Maybe it was because she senses how little and frail he actually was.

Smaller than a baby kitten, Levi was very malnourished as a puppy.

Still, Levi had spunk and didn’t hesitate to nip and bite anyone he came across. Maybe it was due to his small size that he had such a big heart and a determination to be all he could be despite his small size.

A mutually beneficial relationship

According to Levi’s foster mom, Shelby seemed fascinated by Levi. A small ball of fur, Levi was always on the move. His activity seemed to increase the bigger and healthier he got. But Shelby took it all in stride, allowing the still tiny French bulldog to have his way with her.

The video of the two has gotten over 1.6 million views to date and people just can’t seem to get enough of the cute little puppy and his much larger friend. Shelby played a big role in helping to determine what kind of dog Levi would be when he got older.

Most importantly, she taught him how to interact with other dogs.

And when Levi’s little nips and bites got to be too much, Shelby would simply push down gently on him so that he couldn’t do so for a minute. This helped him as he was adopted into a home with two put bulls.

And while initially, the two dogs were unsure of Levi, they soon warmed up to him.
