12 cake decorators who took instructions way too literally

For most people, cakes symbolize celebrations and good times. They represent sweetness, love, fun, and joy.

Because of what they represent, people think cakes are important in ceremonies. This is why they are extra careful when getting a cake for their big day. They want to make sure they only pick the best one.

Unfortunately, not all cakes turn out pretty and nice. Some of them end up looking like a disaster.

If you are planning on ordering one, here are 12 funny cake fails you should totally avoid.

1. When they misheard

My mom ordered a graduation cake with a cap drawn on. I guess they misheard. from r/funny

This is why you should always be clear when giving instructions to the baker. If possible, make the person repeat what you said. It’s one way to make sure that they completely understood your instructions.

2. Too funny

This is one seriously funny cake. It perfectly showed how badly the customer wanted to prank his friend but didn’t have the courage to do so. And the funniest part? The baker revealed his plan in a creative way.

3. Be careful about what you wish for

It’s her cake. She wanted to have “sprinkles” on it and it’s exactly what she got.

4. Nailed it.

The instructions weren’t complete. Despite that, the baker was able to deliver these cakes. They wrote happy birthday on both and what they did was technically correct. Well, sort of.

5. Literally

If the customer has been rude when ordering this cake, then he got exactly what he deserved. It’s clearly a passive-aggressive cake and it’s a funny one.

6. The extra information

The baker probably thought it was a good idea to do an exact copy of what the customer sent. Well, it’s a pretty cake. If only she skipped the extra information, it would have been perfect.

7. Not nothing

Next time the baker asks what you want on your cake, don’t say ‘nothing’. People have different interpretations of the word.

8. The thumb drive

A friend of mine ordered a picture cake and gave the woman a thumb drive with the picture she wanted to use. When my friend went to pick it up, this is what was waiting for her. English is the clerks second language. You can fill in the blanks here. from r/pics

The customer should have told the baker how to open the files in the thumb drive. You see, not everyone is great with English.

9. Not enough space

Congratulations isn’t a short word and this cake proves that. Next time you want it on your cake, remind the baker to plan where it goes first.

10. What is that?

My poor uncle’s birthday cake from r/cakefails

It’s hard not to feel bad for the person celebrating his birthday with this cake. Well, it doesn’t even look like a cake. It’s like melted ice cream.

11. Who’s that Pokemon?

My son wanted a Pikachu cake. I tried LOL from r/cakefails

If it wasn’t for the color, recognizing this Pokemon would be extra hard. The image only looks 50% Pikachu.

12. A cake for Farth

Went to Smith’s to order my birthday cake. We ordered a Monster’s Inc cake that was supposed to have Mike and Sulley. Also, it was supposed to say, Happy Birthday Faith. We got this instead… from r/cakefails

It’s supposed to be Faith and not Farth. Also, the cake was supposed to be a Monster’s Inc cake.
