Gentle husky adorably plays with twins
Huskies are beautiful dogs, with an intimidating posture and piercing eyes. And, of course, sharp teeth- just like any other dog.
So, it makes sense to be wary of them (and to be cautious toward anyone who says a Husky makes the perfect family pet- even around their babies).
But the fact is, you really shouldn’t be.
Huskies are indeed ideal family pets and they are practically harmless even around babies.
Of course, it goes without saying that they should be on a leash and supervised at all times when playing with the new family additions.
According to experts, unlike what people usually believe, this dog breed is not typically protective, and therefore are not good for guard dogs.
On the contrary, they tend to befriend any dog and any hooman- even strangers.
Now, regarding human babies, Huskies are actually safe to have around even from the very first day the newborn comes home. In fact, it is really important to introduce the new addition to the family dog so it can perceive it as an addition to the pack.
“Huskies are caring, and have the intelligence to automatically know your baby is fragile and will adjust the way they act accordingly. It’s likely your husky will treat your baby as if they’re a new addition to the pack, which in fact they are,” experts argue.
And, if you are still not convinced about how gentle huskies are with babies, the video below is coming to help you change your mind.
In this video, Juno the Husky is playing with his twin sisters, Hailey and Kaylee.
Under the parents’ supervision, of course, Juno has joined the twins in their play and is having fun with them.
The girls probably have no idea whether this is a living creature or just a gigantic toy, but they still enjoy playing with it!
At the beginning of the video, Juno is lying on the floor, looking at the baby in green clothes, while also trying to maintain eye contact with the other baby, too.
The twins are excited about the whole experience and try to express themselves through various sounds they make, since they cannot yet talk.
The babies touch the big dog and try to examine its fluffy fur and big head and paws.
When one of the babies, at some point, makes a sound that resembles a cry, the Husky immediately backs off and sits opposite them instead of touching them for a while. It seems like he wants to make sure he has not unwillingly hurt the babies.
From where it stands now, it can keep an eye on both girls, although one of them- the most vocal- draws Juno’s attention with the sounds she makes and the way she moves her arms all the time.
The YouTube community loved this video and users have watched it almost three million times! They also commented about how the dog is going to protect his little sisters for life and the fact that they are all enjoying their play.
However, there were some who were concerned about the children’s safety, and their concerns were all addressed by other viewers:
“This playtime is supervised. It is crucial that the pack/family do interact in natural loving play,” someone wrote, while someone else commented: “I know personally that Huskys are really good with children without question.”
You can watch the adorable trio playing in the video below.
