Adorable German shepherd cannot figure out how to growl
All dogs growl at one point. All it takes is one push too far, and they’ll be baring their teeth and telling you to back off.
But this German Shepherd is making the rounds for one hilarious reason.
It can’t figure out how to growl.
There are folks who can’t sing or whistle, sure. But growling is almost second nature to a dog. He’d have to have really missed the memo on how to do it.
You bare your teeth, channel all that anger inside you, and then…you try.
Our angry – and somewhat confused – German Shepherd is definitely trying his best. There’s certainly a bit of a growl in there.
There are also some other sounds that are pretty hard to describe.
Is he rolling his R’s?
Given that some folks can’t roll their R’s, I’ll give this Shepherd credit for that. At least he can do something that some people can’t do. I don’t think he’ll be scaring any other dogs by rolling his R’s, though.
And if any intruders break in and hear this, they’ll be equal parts scared and really confused.
Dogs generally growl because they feel threatened, disrespected, or just want to start an altercation with someone. Any responsible dog owner should know how to decipher their dog’s growls.
Telling apart growls of anxiety, anger or fear are paramount to knowing what your pooch needs. If only we could tell what this growl means, if you can even call it a growl.
It sounded like a person rolling their R’s just a few seconds ago. Now, it sounds like something got stuck in the washing machine.
To be fair, we do get a bit scared when something gets stuck in the washing machine. Just for completely different reasons.
Someone had better teach this Shepherd how to do a proper growl, or else he won’t be scaring anyone. However, I can imagine a few people finding this scary. I mean, if a dog bared its teeth and started aggressively rolling its R’s at you, wouldn’t you be pretty spooked?
I know I would.
He’s definitely got the “I’m growling” look on his face.
Honestly, if you turn off the volume, it’s pretty convincing.
Maybe let him hang with some other dogs for a bit, and he’ll pick it up. Chances are, he’s never had to growl before. Heck, he looks just as confused as the rest of us. “Wait, is that me making that sound?”
The video ends there, and he totally wipes off the aggression from his face.
I think he’s going to practice a bit off-camera, and then come back when he’s ready.
I can’t convince you enough to watch it yourself down below. Maybe give him some feedback? He might need it.
