German shepherd mothers are kind, caring, and full of love. Just like human mothers often do, they will always care for their offspring. It is one of the most beautiful traits found in nature.

A short video posted to social media has gone viral and seems to truly illustrate the love a mother dog has for her puppies.

It doesn’t take long for this video to showcase just how much she cares for them.

She can’t stop staring at her puppies.

One thing that separates humans from other animals is language.

While many species communicate with each other, humans have been able to pass down knowledge from generation to generation in ways more complex than what is commonly found in the animal kingdom.

A German shepherd mother might not fully be aware of what being a parent means.

They wouldn’t have had anyone pass down advice to them on the best ways to care for them, challenges she’ll likely face, or anything else.

She goes into everything blind, just doing the best she can with her instincts and what she might remember from her own mother when she was just a puppy.

In the video, the mother can’t stop staring at her little puppies. She is so intrigued by them, perhaps she is wondering just what is this miracle of life she is involved in.

Maybe all she knows is she loves these puppies very much and wants to make sure they’re safe.

Mother follows their every move.

The mother dog’s eyes dart around each time one of her little puppies move. She doesn’t want to let one of them out of her sight for even a minute.

It’s her job to protect them and keep them safe, she knows this much.

The mother dog’s name is Pona, and the video of her and her puppies has gone viral online.

It has been viewed nearly 400,000 times.

People just can’t get enough of Pona’s infatuation with her puppies and what it shows about motherhood. Many viewers who watched the video felt compelled to leave a comment as well.

“I was the exact same way after I had my son….he is 20 now and I still look at him like this….”, one viewer wrote.

“We human moms does the same, stare in fascination & amazement at what was inside us, awestruck, motherhood human or animal is a wonderful experience,” wrote another.

Another viewer suggested that maybe Pona briefly thought she had only dreamed giving birth to the puppies.

“Mama wake up after giving birth that night before: oh that wasn’t just a dream they are really here.”

German shepherds are all about family.

German shepherds are very loyal dogs. Males tend to be very protective of their pack, be it humans or other dogs

. Puppies tend to stay with their mothers for about 8 weeks. This gives them time to learn to socialize with littermates, and other behaviors they will need to know.

Pona’s puppies will go out on their own in a couple of months but she will always be a mother.

She will always take with her the love she has for her puppies and her instinctive desire to protect them.
