This German shepherd and tiny ferret are the best of friends

It was an unlikely kind of relationship, but these animals showed to us that whatever form it may be, love transcends all. It doesn’t matter that you’re a dog or a cat or a fierce lion or bear.

What matters is the love and friendship borne out from two animals.

Meet Nova the German shepherd and Pacco the ferret.

They have been best friends since the day they met.

Their owner, Diana Grib, said they live peacefully together and they don’t let their difference bother them. Diana first got Nova and introduced her to all kinds of animals such as cats, rats, and parrots. She wanted her pup to be friendly with other animals and humans.

Diana wanted Nova to learn the value of friendship and kindness.

By the time Diana introduced Nova to a new pet, Nova was happy to have a sibling.

Diana had always wanted to have a ferret, so she went to Krakow where she met Pacco the ferret. In love with the small creature, Diana took Pacco home and Nova was excited to meet the new addition to the family.

Nova and Pacco may be different animals, but they have a lot in common.

For starters, Nova and Pacco are both playful, curious, and brave. They love to wander around and learn about their environment. Oftentimes, Pacco would follow Nova like a shadow.

They were the best of friends!

Ever since the Pacco met Nova, they have been inseparable. They play, travel, and sleep together. They always have to do stuff as a pair. It doesn’t matter that one s bigger because they will always have each other’s back.

“It sometimes feels that I own two dogs,” Diana shared with Bored Panda.

When asked who was the boss of the house, Diana laughed and shared that it was Pacco, the ferret.

“Considering that ferrets are cheeky and stubborn, it’s understandable. Nova is really happy to just have someone by her side.” Diana added.

Diana advised others that they should do research before getting a ferret.

“From creating a safe environment in the house to developing a raw menu, health issues and dealing with poop, you have to know a lot about them,” she explained. “Before I got Pacco, I spent at least half a year gathering information. Still, I’m learning about him every day.”

It greatly helped that Diana had Nova who was a sweet and loving dog.

But Diana warned that ferrets aren’t for everyone.

“For starters, they bite. Some do it more, some less, but they definitely let you know if they don’t like something. They also sense fear, so if you get afraid of them, they’ll use it to their advantage.” So, if you have little kids running around or aren’t willing to put up with their neediness, maybe you shouldn’t get one.

Thankfully, Pacco was such a sweetheart. It may be due to the loving and safe environment created by Diana and Nova.

Love can truly change a creature’s perspective.
