Kind German shepherd becomes friends with every animal that he meets

If you thought this gang was the newest cast of an animal family movie, you would definitely be wrong.

Even though it would make a great flick, it’s much more delightful to think that these animals are friends in real life.

At the center of this hodgepodge of furs, feathers, talons, and paws are Nuka, the three-year-old black German shepherd dog who loves making friends with other animals.

He’s not just “man’s best friend”.

In fact, he’s best friends with rabbits, rats, parakeets, cats, guinea pigs, and well, other dogs. If he’s the ambassador of dog-kind to animals, then we believe he’s doing an amazing job.

“Nuka is the gentlest dog in the world and absolutely loves getting his picture taken,” Nicole said.

“I have a lot of smaller animals at home, and he is just fascinated by them and always is happy to let them cuddle up to him and play.

Yates added that it’s almost like Nuka has a natural instinct to protect and be gentle with other animals.

Yates said that Nuka’s gentleness started at an early age.

She told the news outlet that she adopted Nuka when he was just 8 weeks old. Right then and there, Nuka showed incredible intelligence and calmness. She recalled that they had to stay at a facility that didn’t allow pets but Nuka was quiet throughout their stay.

When he was finally brought home, Nuka met Yates’ older shepherd Zeki.

“Nuka learned a lot from Zeki, which was really beneficial to his development from an early stage and also helped his behavior around the animals,” she said to the outlet.

“Zeki was also an incredibly smart dog who was brilliant with other animals, and her presence around Nuka molded him into the dog he is today.”

Nuka doesn’t care what you have – fur or feather, or snout or beak.

But in his extensive list of friends, Yates shared that Nuka also picks favorites. Yates said they have around 40 rats but Nuka was always drawn to one particular rodent. But still, his best friend among all of them is Yates’ ferret named Raye.

Nuka’s gentleness is as heartwarming as it is amusing.

Because of his demeanor, a lot of abandoned animals felt at home with Yates and Nuka.

According to The Dodo, a facility recently needed emergency homes for animals because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Blue, a gray and white rat, quickly connected with Nuka.

What could’ve been a situation that led to homelessness ended up with Nuka finding a new best friend.

Nuka brings comfort to humans as well.

“It is really humbling to hear people love the pictures, and on a couple of occasions, I have had people saying how they have been going through a tough time and Nuka’s pics have cheered them up,” Yates said.
