Adorable German shepherd helps new rescue kitten feel brave
Yes, we get it, German Shepherds make amazing police dogs and awesome trackers. What we often don’t think about (unless you own one), is the fact that German Shepherds are also some of the sweetest and most gentle dogs around! This story proves that without a doubt.
Anya is a German Shepherd who has a heart of pure gold.
Her owners started to realize this when she would literally help out around the house! While her mom and dad were doing laundry, she would reach her little head and grab clothes to help bring them in to be folded. She just loves helping!
Since that moment, she has started doing all she can to help.
Her skills have improved, too! She can empty the dryer, drag a laundry basket around, knows where to put things that have been left out, and more! Doggy dispatch cataloged it all and said:
She taught herself to empty the dryer, carry the laundry basket, pick things up off the floor and set them on the table, help empty the dishwasher, throw trash away, take out the garbage, do yard work, and even carry grocery bags inside. No matter what anyone was doing, she just wants to help out.
If that wasn’t enough, she may have topped even all those things.
Helping around the house is nice, but helping someone in need is even better. One day Anya’s parents found a kitten living in a dumpster near a local car wash. They couldn’t leave it there in good conscience and decided to bring it home.
As you could imagine, the kitten was terrified and didn’t know what to do.
They made her a cozy spot in their basement to hang out in as she adjusted./ Soon, Anya found out there was a new friend in the house! Anya would sit at the clear plastic door leading into the basement and stare at the kitten, excited to meet her.
Their first meeting went well and since that moment, Anya had a permanent friend!
As part of her bonding experience, the humans would play with a shoestring and the kitten would chase after it. It clearly loved it and Anya decided she wanted in on the action! Holding the string up with her mouth, she started playing with the kitten and helping her have some fun in the new home.
Soon, the two became close friends.
Anya loved the kitten so much that she would bring her toys every time she felt like the kitten wasn’t comfortable. Like a good older sister, she just wanted to make sure the little fluffball now living in her house was perfectly at home.
German Shepherds are more than just work dogs – they’re lovers!
There are just too many stories to deny it. A German Shepherd would just as soon help you out in the field as they would cuddle up for a movie night in. As long as they are with you and have someone to love, they are happy.
