German Shepherd in shelter finds a forever home with the New Jersey police department
Nothing tugs at the heartstrings quite like dogs left at shelters.
As pure, loyal creatures, seeing them alone makes you wish you had the means to take them in and make them feel what it’s like to be loved by family and taken care of for the rest of their lives.
Reasons why dogs end up in shelters may vary, but it’s always comforting to know that they are still much safer there than in the streets or in abusive homes.
People who work in animal shelters have a genuine love for the innocent creatures they rescue.
That’s why they are relentless in seeking aid from the community just to be able to feed, care for, and protect the animals in their care. It’s a tough job but the rewards are definitely worth it.
One lovable German Shepherd was a shelter dog until the right family came and took him in.
Sarge is a German Shepherd living at the Saint Francis Animal Shelter in Georgetown, South Carolina.
That is until the best people decided he would make a great addition to their family.
No one knows why he ended up in the shelter or why it took a while before he was adopted. Perhaps he didn’t have much luck finding a good family during his stay but fortunately, things turned out for the best when the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office decided to adopt him.
Sarge’s friends at the Saint Francis Animal Shelter were so overcome with joy about the adoption that they just had to share the good news on their Facebook page, complete with photos of the adorable dog with his new family.
Not only did Sarge finally find a forever home with the police officers at the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, but he will also be making a significant contribution to the community by helping patrol the streets to make sure the city is safe.
Love sure does a lot for a dog! You can see in photos just how happy and healthy Sarge is. He even smiles in photos when he poses with his family.
The happy folks at the animal shelter wrote on their post,
“Way to go, Sarge! Live your best life.”
While they undoubtedly miss being with Sarge every day, his friends at the animal shelter are more than grateful that he finally has a loving home with kind people. Thanks to their efforts, Sarge was able to find his happily ever after – including a fulfilling job that lets the whole world know just how amazing he truly is. There are more dogs like Sarge living in animal shelters, hoping to be found by loving, kind-hearted folks.
That’s why it’s best to adopt a pet instead of purchasing from a breeder. You’ll be amazed at their stories and realize just how much you can do for them. All animals deserve a happy life.
Let’s do what we can to help them out today.
