Dogs are pretty easy to play tricks on. That doesn’t mean you should, but if the situation is right, and you and your dog have that kind of playful relationship, pranking your dog can be kind of fun.

That’s what this funny viral video has shown us, anyway.

The video begins with a man taking his German Shepherd for a walk.

The man decides to play a little joke on his dog and hides behind a tree. Then, he waited for his dog to figure out something was amiss and filmed their adorable reaction.

We can only imagine what was going through the German Shepherd’s mind at the time.

And just like that, the pup was alone.

The soundtrack dubbed over top of this video really hammers home the emotions the German Shepherd must have been going through at the time.

At first, the music is bouncy and fun, much like one would imagine going for a walk is like for a dog. When the German Shepherd turns around to realize they are alone, however, the music changes with their emotions.

Instead of a jaunty little tune in the background, the music suggests a feeling of loss, confusion, and anxiety.

The soundtrack makes this video feel like a big-budget movie.

Do you ever wonder what kind of movies dogs would make?

We figure the stories would be pretty similar to this: A Dog can’t find its owner on a walk, a tennis ball was seemingly thrown but still remains in the human’s hand, these would be the plotlines of dog-made films.

Does this dog have a future in film?

Perhaps the German Shepherd in this video has a future as a canine actor. Maybe they will be the next star of a film where a hard-nosed cop gets put in the K9 division. Then the cop is paired with a dog who melts their heart.

As much as this German Shepherd loves going for a walk, they would never want to go on one if it meant losing their human. German Shepherds are some of the most loyal companions.

The American Kennel Club has the following description of the breed listed on its website:

“There are many reasons why German Shepherds stand in the front rank of canine royalty, but experts say their defining attribute is character: loyalty, courage, confidence, the ability to learn commands for many tasks, and the willingness to put their life on the line in defense of loved ones.”

The man does not leave his German Shepherd wondering where he is for very long.

He just hides behind a tree not too far away and allows his canine companion to sniff out his hiding spot. When he finds him, the two embrace as the man has a little laugh at his dog’s expense.
