German shepherd figures out the perfect way to tell his humans he’s hungry

As a dog owner, you’ve probably wondered what your dog is thinking most of the time. With no ability to speak the human language, it’s hard to tell when pets are hungry, sleepy, or annoyed.
One particular German Shepherd is going viral for his adorable communication skills.

In the video, Apollo can be seen hanging around his human in their home kitchen. He was looking down at his empty bowl as if wondering why it’s still not filled up.
Then, he gave it a whack using his paw.

Even if you don’t know how to speak the human language, you’d understand what he meant right away. Plus, he had that look on his face that’ll make you want to pick him up and offer all the treats you have.
His human understood him right away.

Right after noticing Apollo’s action, he was quick to ask if he could help him. And as soon as he heard his human’s voice, his ears perked up quickly. He even tilted his head and that made him even harder to resist.
Then, the dog walked over to his human.

He started licking his hand as if asking him to grant a very special request. And even without words, Apollo was able to let his human know what he wanted.
He looked at the closed door right behind him and gave it a gentle nudge.

Apollo’s human understood what he meant. He opened the door and inside was his favorite food.
Apollo pointed at it with his nose.

And to convince his human to give him his food, he went back to giving him a few more licks on the hand. Fortunately, it worked. Apollo finally had his meal.
Apparently, GSDs have a really huge appetite.

Apollo has just had his meal. That’s why his human was surprised by his demand for food. Unfortunately, the human was too weak to resist Apollo’s request. The dog eventually won.
Apollo impressed tons of people online.

His video has been viewed more than 40,000 times. And there, people left positive comments.
One of them said:
“Such a smart lil pup! Just think of all the antics he’s going to come up with in the future. His family is so lucky to have Apollo in their lives”
Another one commented:
“My dog would be saying.. Waitress!!!??? your tip is plundering as is your service
..Then continue to bang his bowl around

Feeding German Shepherds
Like other dogs, GSDs have their own dietary needs. As large breed active dogs, they need a diet that can promote their overall health and well-being. They need foods that promote joint health, control inflammation, and improve trainability.
For adult dogs, it’s best to give them about 2.5 to 35 cups of quality dog food. The quantity may be modified based on your pet’s size, age, weight, and general daily activity. If you are feeling unsure, you can talk to your dog’s vet for guidance.
