Dad tells German shepherd she can get whatever toy she wants and her reaction is melting hearts
This mightâve been how she imagined a slice of heaven would look like.
Animals, especially dogs, arenât too far from us when it comes to appreciating things. Maybe itâs also the reason why they evolved with those extra waggy tails.
And speaking of how dogs express their excitement, a Missouri German shepherd dog might have been a little bit too eager that she skipped the tail wag altogether. While what she did in a store was unexpected, it definitely brought smiles to other shoppers that day.
Shannon Emery took his 1-year-old German shepherd to a local shop.
He shared with FOX that his trips to Menards with Mila, his adorable and easily-excitable German shepherd dog, were a regular thing. And as a dog dad, he often rewards Mila during these errands run.
“She has been to this store a couple of times and she does get to pick out a toy each visit,” Emery shared their ritual to FOX.
And when you promise a dog a toy every visit, they will expect it every time.
“The aisle with the toy bin is one of the last stops in the store so she impatiently pulled the leash towards that part of the store the whole visit,” Emery told FOX.
As they approached a giant box labeled âAssorted Pet Toys for $2.99â, Mila was struggling to contain her excitement. Itâs as if she was brought into the best place in the whole world and was allowed to play with whatever toy she could put her jaws on.
At first, Mila was standing against and was checking that weekâs selection. She darted her gaze back and forth from one toy to another, never mind that she may have seen the other ones before.
Then, a bystander held a red ball to Mila then tossed it into the box.
This tempted the already-excited Mila to chase after the said toy. We canât say what Mila found in that toy but she just felt that she had to have it.
And so, without further hesitation, she jumped right into the mound of toys.
“When we finally got there this time, the stock was low so she could not reach the toys very well. She just jumped right in without hesitation but I was not recording the first time she did it. So, we recreated the moment on camera,” he said.
And when she landed in the toys, she was pretty much convinced that it was heaven.
The ball that was offered to her suddenly became irrelevant because there were toys of different types and sizes right under her feet.
“This is how we shop for dog toys,” Emery is heard saying in the video.
Through all of that careful sifting and weighing of options, Mila came back home with a âyellow squeaky ball.â And if she ever gets tired of it, she can always look forward to the next store run.
