Musical German shepherd hops on a bench and plays the piano like a pro
Just like humans, animals can be amazingly talented. This includes the ability to sing, do tricks, or in one German shepherd’s case, the ability to play the organ.
Sadie, a German shepherd-border collie mix is wowing the Internet with her ability to tickle the ivories of her family’s organ.
Sadie shows off her skills
Dogs are said to have the mental capacity of a two-year-old child. This intelligence is what allows them to learn a variety of new things. Mainly, they can learn commands taught to them by their owners or a trainer.
Some dogs can learn more specialized skills, such as learning to play the organ, sort of.
Sadie seems to know what she is doing as she begins to play
A rescue, Sadie has been taught by her owner to play the organ, or at least act like she is playing it. In a viral video, when Sadie’s owner gives the command, Sadie hops up on the bench in front of the organ and prepares to play.
First, she turns the instrument on. Then, she places her paws on the keys and begins to move her paws back and forth.
Sadie adorably hides her head whenever she makes a mistake
Sadie seems to hit the wrong key, and her owner lets her know. She responds hilariously, hiding her head underneath her leg in shame. After encouragement from her owner, soon she is back to playing once again. And even though she messes up again, her owner tells her not to worry about it.
As Sadie plays, she continuously looks around to see if her owner approves. At the end of her performance, at the prompting of her mom, she gets up and gives a bow, or at least what passes for a bow, to her audience on the video.
Sadie’s mom is so proud of her
Regardless of whether she is good at playing the organ or not, Sadie’s mom is still proud of her. Sadie’s mom was so proud of the talented dog that she recorded one of her performances on video.
The video, which was put up on YouTube, has been viewed over 1 million times.
Training your dog
Sadie is a perfect example of the amazing things that you can teach your dog to do. Whether it’s following your commands perfectly or performing on cue, like Sadie, many dogs are smart enough to learn a variety of tricks.
They tend to pick up on training quickly, especially if you reward them for correctly carrying out your commands with positive reinforcement methods, including giving them praise and treats.
Making a task enjoyable to your dog is one of the best ways to ensure that they pick up on the training. Happy dogs tend to be more obedient, and by showing them love and attention they seek in between training sessions, you can ensure that they are loyal to you and your family.
Who knows, maybe your dog is the next virtuoso, just like Sadie. For more of Sadie’s magnificent performance, check out the video below.
