German shepherd rescues a baby crow and they become the best of best friends

Having a best friend with whom you can freely share your thoughts and experiences is an amazing feeling. You have someone with whom you can share your quirkiest stories and out-of-this-world experiences. They don’t have to be biologically related to you or they can be, but the important thing is having someone with whom you can share your life.

We usually meet our best friends in the most random ways.

One German shepherd found an unlikely friendship with a crow.

It’s very unusual to hear that a dog and a crow can be friends. But animals constantly surprise us with their innate compassion and friendship that they can befriend anyone whom they can connect with. This German shepherd found her best friend in the form of a crow.

They would play together, eat together, and go on great adventures.

They were the best of friends and no one can change that. It’s really funny how it all started.

Xena the German shepherd met Pepe after saving him when he fell off a tree.

Pepe was just a small crow when Xena and her human companion, Joanna, found him. Pepe fell off a 100-fee tree and injured himself. They instantly cared for him and recorded his noise, so his mother can come.

But, she never did come.

Xena and Joann helped nurse Pepe.

They would put him inside their home at night, so stray cats won’t eat him and feed him to give him the necessary nourishments he need. Once they are able to see him recover from his fall, he started to take his first steps.

It was a great thing that the family’s yard was huge and full of plants. Pepe was able to explore on his own and learn more about his surroundings. He even went as far as helping them break down dirt crumbs!

Joanna and Xena also helped him hunt for food instead of feeding him.

When he grew his wings, they helped him learn how to fly.

Pepe was a natural. He was able to quickly learn the necessary survival skills he needs while having fun. It’s not just these skills that he was able to pick up, but also some of Xena’s habits.

Whenever Xena would sniff something, Pepe was also there to sniff it.

If Pepe has a toy, Xena would also like to play with the toy.

There may be sibling rivalries, but at the end of the day, they have each other’s back.

They don’t want to miss out on the other’s accomplishments.

That’s why it was bittersweet when Pepe learned to interact with his fellow crows. He would go on adventures with his crow friends, but he would always come back home to Xena and Joanna.

Every time Pepe would visit, Xena would always give him the warmest hugs a German Shepherd can show.

Joanna and Xena may miss Pepe, but they were proud that he was becoming stronger and more independent. It shows the reality of growing up. We may move out of our homes to learn more about ourselves, but we never forget the past and the friendships we built.

Xena and Pepe may no longer see each other every day, but they will always be the best of friends.
