German Shepherd overwhelmed with joy when reunited with owner after long time
Reunions can be some of the sweetest and most tender moments in life. It’s a special occasion when people are able to come together after time spent apart. But this overwhelming joy isn’t reserved just for humans.
In fact, animals feel it too. Dogs, in particular, can share an unmatched bond with their owners. And after being separated from one another, the reunion between dog and owner can be a spectacle, one filled with immense emotion and relief. This shows just how much love dogs reserve for their companions.
Being away from your dog can be hard on them. As they are, in fact, man’s best friend.
They’re used to being by your side and sharing every moment with you. So it’s no surprise that while parting is such sweet sorrow, the return is that much sweeter.
This was exactly the case for one German Shepherd named Freya and her owner.
In the video, Freya the German Shepherd is united with her owner after some time spent apart. Her joyous cries ring out as she greets her owner with unending happiness. You can literally feel how much she longed for him in his absence.
Fortunately, she was rewarded for such great patience! The German Shepherd breed possesses a fierce loyalty to their families.

The video shows Freya’s owner returning home to their back patio while she is inside the house. He hunches down so as not to give the surprise away, but she is quick to catch on.
You can hear her excitement well up as a woman opens the door to let her out. Unbeknownst to her, her owner calls out her name, giving her the biggest stun.
She barks a few times and immediately rushes to him, greeting him with a wealth of licks, wags, and joyful whines. It’s a moving reunion, and you can tell just how dearly she missed her owner.
She excitedly talks to him for over a minute, as if to ask him how he could’ve been gone for so long. Finally, he’s able to contain her, and he sits on the floor to embrace her. The feeling of gratitude is mutual as he pets her belly and she excitedly kisses him.
This video is just the dose of love we need! The union between man and dog is so heart-warming, it will make you want to instantly pull yours close and appreciate them for everything they do.
