Toby the German Shepherd is a real hero. He’s someone who knows just how to make anyone feel safe and at ease in his company.

That’s why his human parent, Lorraine Scott, is extremely lucky to have him.

The 40-year-old was out on a walk with her puppy on Leasowe Beach early Saturday morning when she realized someone was stalking her.

She recalls,

“I turned into the car park for the beach and I spotted this maroon car on my right hand side. I carried on driving down towards the steps to the beach because it’s easier for the dog and parked by a vacant car. I then started to sort everything out, like get my wellies on and get Toby sorted and noticed that the maroon car must have turned around from the way he was facing when I drove in as it was pulling up beside the vacant car by me. I knew whoever it was had seen that I was on my own when I drove past, but I didn’t think anything of it at this point.”

Fortunately, loyal and protective Toby started barking his head off, causing the man to flee.

“Toby started barking and going mad at him and then straight away the man jumped and ran straight back into his car and drove away very quickly.”

Still shaken by the incident, Lorraine expressed how truly grateful she was to have a companion as bold and intelligent as Toby.

She may have been trained in kickboxing but she admitted that she didn’t know how to react the minute it dawned on her that she was being followed. She was not expecting such a scary encounter, considering how she’s quite familiar with the place.

The stalker, who was wearing a black tracksuit, was described by Lorraine as someone of slim build with shaved, blond hair. The encounter convinced her to never go on walks alone. Proud of her companion, Lorraine enthused,

“I’m just really happy I had my protector with me. He’s naturally a protective breed and because of our bond he will always protect me.”

This is what makes German Shepherd owners proud of their companions. This breed boasts self-confidence and fearlessness like no other.

With an innate ability to be naturally protective of their owners, German Shepherds are truly one of a kind.

When trained well and taken care of properly, one will have nothing to fear or worry about in the company of this fiercely loyal breed.

Toby is proof that German Shepherds are unlike no other.

If it’s companionship, love, loyalty, and security you seek in a pet, then this breed is perfect for you. Just be sure to shower them with the same affection for a truly happy relationship. Anyone would be truly lucky to have a German Shepherd by their side.
