If you have kids, then you know how hard it can be to wake them up in the morning. One enterprising mom has found a way to wake her kids. She uses her German shepherd, Chevy, to go around in the morning and wake both of her sons up. And forget going back to sleep, Chevy is there to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Chevy makes her morning rounds

As the morning starts, Chevy waits for her mom to give the word. Then she is off, starting by jumping on the bed of the first kid. You can hear the kid groan Chevy lands on him with her weight. Then she barks until the kid shows signs of waking up. Only after she is sure that the first kid is up does she move on to the next.

Next, Chevy is off into a darkened room where she attempts to wake up the next kid. She follows the same routine with this kid, though she seems to bark more this time. Chances are, this kid is a little harder to wake up and she is aware of that. She is good at her job and doesn’t stop barking until the kid tells his mom he is up.

Chevy has her own social media channels

Chevy has her own social media accounts, run by her mom of course, including on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube, where she posts photos and videos from her day-to-day activities. The videos on Chevy’s YouTube include those of her cutting the grass, taking selfies, and working out, among other silliness.

How easy is it to train a dog?

You too can train your dog to react like Chevy. All you need is patience and consistency. Whenever your dog does as you ask, it is important to make sure to properly reward them for their behavior. This includes responding to them in a positive tone and providing treats as a reward.

German shepherds are easy to train

Some dogs are better than others when it comes to training. German shepherds are very easy to train since they are such intelligent dogs. Just keep in mind that each dog is an individual. This means that some dogs are easier than others to train.

Unlike some breeds, German shepherds do have a lot of energy. This can lead to them getting distracted at times, especially when training. But, once trained, they follow orders obediently. Also, when training a German shepherd, it is best if you start the process while they are relatively young, with some trainers recommending as early as eight weeks old.

That’s not to say that an older German shepherd cannot learn; only that it might be more difficult. Ultimately, though, with persistence, you should be able to succeed.

All in a day’s work

Chevy seems to have been well trained by her mom. Once her job is done, she is off into another part of the house. But, she can rest assured that she has done her job, at least until the next morning. Here is the video of the whole hilarious scene as it plays out.
