Soldier’s home from military service – See the moment her German shepherds realize she’s back
When not performing their duty to our country, members of the military lead normal lives just like everyone else, including owning pets. When they are gone for training or on deployment, their pets miss them. So, it is a joyous occasion when service members and their pest are reunited, as YouTube user Heatherwicz found out when she returned home after 6 months away.
Heather returned home to recover from an injury
German shepherds are an energetic breed, so imagine having three of them. Heather had left her dogs in the care of her family as she attended her military occupation training (MOS) as a part of her training in the Army. Unfortunately, she had been injured while getting her training and had to take some time off to heal.
She used the two weeks off to visit friends and family
She had subsequently been granted two weeks off to recover from her injuries. She used this time to travel home to see family and friends, but most of all her three German shepherds. Her dogs had no idea that she was returning home and so were in for quite a surprise when they were brought into the room.

But first, Heather needs to prepare for them. She figures that the dogs will be excited, so she cleans up around the area a little with the help of an off-camera friend. Once she is ready, she sits back with her phone to capture the moment so she can cherish the memory when she is away from home.
The three German shepherds are so happy to see her
As soon as the three German shepherds are led in, they rush over to Heather, so excited to see her. The trio can’t contain themselves as they jump around on the recliners. Heather sits back, taking it all in as she films the spectacle before her. Meanwhile, another person films the entire sweet reunion with another camera.
Each of the dogs is about the same size as Heather so it is understandable that she is overwhelmed by their love and attention. And who could blame them? They are only making up for six months of lost time by peppering her with their doggie kisses.
Heather is overwhelmed by the love and support of her dogs
Her dogs are so excited that they swarm over her, blocking her from view at times. And can you blame them? German shepherds are naturally energetic as it is and seeing their owner for the first time in six months simply proves too much for the three fur babies. All Heather can do at this point is sit back and enjoy all the attention her three pups are giving her.
Thanks to the members of the armed forces for their service and self-sacrifice
Each year thousands of troops are deployed to locations around the world. During this time, they are separated from their friends, family, and pets, as they selflessly serve their country. It is to protect the freedom to enjoy such moments as these that U.S military personnel sacrifice their time and lives every day.
