Giant husky looks “tough” – but he immediately rolls over with joy when baby starts to pet him
A family pet, such as a dog, makes a great companion for a baby, as long as they are trained not to bite or play too roughly. Most often, you will find babies playing right alongside the family pet. So, what happens when a baby turns their attention to their beloved dog? In the case of one Siberian husky and his baby friend, you roll over and get amazing belly rubs.
The perfect family pet
Affectionate and good-natured, Siberian huskies make a perfect family pet. And while they do well with children, you should never leave young children alone with a dog to avoid any potential problems. Some potential issues could include rough play by both the child and the dog, which could lead to aggressive behavior on the dog’s part. But with training and supervision, this can usually be avoided.
The biggest thing to keep in mind is the temperament of your dog when allowing a child to play with and be around them. Since dogs use their mouth and teeth so much, the dog can hurt a baby without meaning to, including through such activities as nipping and soft biting. This is fine with another dog, but definitely not OK with a baby.
