Adorable ginger tabby and his hooman have the sweetest bedtime routine
Pet lovers everywhere love the idea that they’re able to communicate with their pets.
Sure, your pets can be trained but have you ever wondered if they can really understand what you’re saying?
The most common housepets are cats and dogs. There are several videos on the Internet of dogs singing, seemingly talking to their owners, and in some special cases even answer simple math equations.

Cats on the other hand are more complicated than dogs.
Felines can be considerably more complex and puzzling when it comes to their communication.

As natural observers, cats can understand as more than we understand them.
But that doesn’t mean reading them is impossible. They express themselves by purring, meowing, and rubbing against you.
“It appears that felines do speak to us in varying cat meow sounds. And some breeds even have their own distinctive cat meow sounds — like the Siamese, known for a voice that sounds like a baby crying,” says Marilyn Krieger, certified cat behavior consultant.

“Generally speaking, meows and the different meows you hear are for people,” Marilyn says. “They are so capable of so many different types of vocalization.”
Cats are also independent and elusive creatures.
Domesticated cats can be more social but they still prefer keeping their distance (except when it’s time to eat).

You’re considered lucky if you have a cat who’s very clingy and sweet, just like Mr. Kermit and his hooman Javie.

Kermit is a 5-year-old orange tabby who’s living with Javie. The two have developed a special bond in all the years that they’ve been together and it’s the cutest thing ever.
“He would start sleeping with me, from the moment I slept to the moment I woke up. He was always there.”

Before adopting Kermit, Javier had been going through some trauma and had found himself in such a difficult state mentally and emotionally.

He then explained that his mom thought that adopting a pet would help him overcome his trauma.
And it worked.
“Even going through therapy,” he told The Dodo, “there was just that moment where you’re talking to someone and they’re saying all the right things, but you don’t want them to say the right things.”

Seems that all that Javier needed was someone that would love him unconditionally, and in his case, it was a cat.
“He is somebody that I can always talk to and I’m not going to get any judgement from.”

In the video, we can see their bedtime routine their cute chit chats before going to sleep.
Whenever Javier calls his name, Kermit would answer him with a meow. Seems like he can really understand his hooman after all!
