When Cody Hall was born, the doctors said that she would be disfigured for life. But two doctors spent 14 years tirelessly performing groundbreaking procedures.

Tony and Theresa Hall were determined to love their baby no matter what.

For nine months, they had been anxiously awaiting the arrival of their child. All of the tests showed that their daughter was developing healthily. But when she was born, they learned that she had a condition.

Baby Cody had hemangioma. This condition makes stem cells transform into benign tumors. The doctors said that Cody would always have a severely deformed face.

The parents got used to raising a child who looked different. They realized that other people would stare. But they weren’t prepared for the level of contempt out there for an innocent infant. In fact, others would comment regularly about the girl’s appearance, with neighbors even asking the parents if they would consider putting a bag over her head.

Cody’s mom and dad eventually saved up enough money to take the child to one of the world’s best plastic surgeons, Dr. David Apfelberg in California.

After one operation, Dr. Apfelberg was able to remove Cody’s large growth. But she still had scars all over her skin.

So the parents saved up more money and were able to take their daughter to Dr. Milton Waner, a New York based medical professional. The doctor realized that the procedures would be extensive.

Over 14 years, Cody would have 21 operations. But the final results are astonishing. Thanks to the doctors, it’s impossible to tell that Cody was born with facial abnormalities.

Overall, the procedures cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. But luckily, the family had received many donations from across the world to fund them. So some people may have said hateful things to Cody, but others were supportive of her.

Cody is now a thriving and healthy adult. Her life is going incredibly well. She married in 2017 and currently has a fulfilling career.

In fact, Cody now works in a medical profession herself. She is employed by Kettering General Hospital as a health care support worker.

Just after Cody married, Dr. Waner sent her a very special and supportive message.

On a TV show, the doctor told Cody the following:

“I am so happy to hear that you’re settled, that you’re married. I wish you and your husband all the best. And please drop me a line from time to time. I really, really enjoy getting a message from you.” – Dr. Milton Waner

Cody has even gone as far as to call Dr. Waner the second most important man in her life after her father (before her husband came along, of course.)

And Cody’s life has only gotten better. She is also now the mom of two beautiful children. She is certain to be a kind and caring mom to the kids.

Medical science is able to do amazing things. Thanks to the hard work of people like Dr. Waner, people like Cody are able to thrive.
