Ask any dog owner and they’d tell you there is nothing a loyal dog wouldn’t do to make a person happy. And isn’t it true that a dog gives that extra joy to a family just by being around? These furry creatures work wonders because everything seems to be more fun and special because of them.

With all these being said, however, there’s no telling what their limits are. Dogs can be anything and anyone you want them to be because they are always ready to go above and beyond.

The adorable relationship between a Golden Retriever named Kody and Autumn, his little human sister, will melt your heart.

The two first met three years ago when Kody was still a tiny pup and Autumn was still a little munchkin. According to her mom, “The moment they first met, it was true love.” It’s true love indeed and it only grew as years went by.

Their bond only became stronger and you would rarely see them not next to each other. Kody didn’t just form a special bond with the little girl but with the rest of the family as well. He is such a good boy and a gentle furry canine.

Autumn and Kody will only be apart whenever the little girl is at school.

It’s inevitable but the Golden Retriever will always make the most out of his moment with Autumn once she gets home. In fact, he would patiently wait at the bus stop to fetch his BFF/little sister.

Once the school bus arrives, the adorable dog would always make it a habit to give her a sweet welcome home greeting. Then he’d gently take little Autumn’s backpack and the two would joyfully walk their way home together.

Another proof that Kody is such a caring dog is that he would always look back at Autumn whenever she’s behind him. But during occasions when his human sibling gets ahead of him, he would run to catch up to her. There’s nothing the dog wouldn’t do for them to be with each other.

An all-around doggo.

When Autumn isn’t around, Kody would always make sure to be of help to the other members of the family.

“Kody is pretty handy around the house,” Autumn’s mom, Kelly told The Dodo. “He does more for me than my husband does. He is a true gentleman.”

The family doesn’t worry much about Autumn because they know Kody is always there to guard, protect and love her. He is definitely a good furry brother and best friend to the little girl because he doesn’t want to leave her side whenever Autumn is around.

“It’s so awesome to have a dog who loves her so much. They’ll be best friends forever,” Kelly concluded.

It’s true that you can teach a dog tons of tricks, but to Kody, loving Autumn comes in naturally. To him, it is his real purpose in life and he is willing to do it for the rest of his life. Both Autumn and Kody are lucky to have each other.
