Baby elephant hilariously searches for girl’s 'trunk'

There’s just something about babies that make them so adorable. May they be humans or animals, they will surely make you gush and give a quick kiss on the cheeks. We often pamper them with hugs, kisses, or softly squeeze their squishy and soft body parts.

But instead of a grown person or animal giving a soft squeeze, it was the other way around! This is surely what happened to a woman on an unknown elephant reserve in India.

Instead of her giving attention to the baby elephant, she was the object of attention as the baby elephant looked for her nose!

Elephants are gentle giants. But baby elephants are even better.

Baby elephants are one of the cutest creatures on the planet.

They are gentle, intelligent, and affectionate animals. Despite their size, they can move silently that you might not even notice them when they pass by!

An elephants’ trunk is a muscular extension of their upper lip and nose which is important for their survival. It has a lot of uses such as a tool for eating, drinking, washing, and picking up objects.

At first, baby elephants don’t know how to use their trunks. They swing them to and fro but by their 6 to 8 months, they began to learn how to use it.

Baby elephants use their trunks to show affection to their mother or herd. You’ll definitely find them adorable whenever they suck on their trunks like a newborn baby with their thumbs.

Considering that elephants are social creatures, they would want to create a close bond with their family member or members of the herd. They use their trunks to pet and caress those they love. Lastly, they use it to search for and gather information.

So, you can imagine the cute and affectionate way the baby elephant searched for the woman’s nose.

Based on the clip shared by Amystan on YouTube, a baby elephant was using his trunk to touch and search for the woman’s face.

You couldn’t blame them. When a stranger comes to their home, flopping down on the ground and making herself feel at home, the baby elephants were curious to know who the stranger was.

And what better way to search and get to know the woman was to poke their trunks at her and see if it makes a squeaky noise.

Like anyone in her position, the woman was happy enough to respond by squealing and laughing in delight when one of the baby elephants began exploring her face with his wet and fuzzy trunk.

As we all know, they use their trunks to gather information. So, we could probably tell that he was trying to “Google” his way of finding out who the woman is where her nose is. What a cheeky baby elephant he was!

After a few tries of searching her face, he was able to grasp her nose to their joy! From then on, he wouldn’t stop showing his affection by grasping her nose with his trunk repeatedly. The woman was happy enough to calmly sit and smile at the baby elephant!
