Hallee Fuqua had been around a lot of dogs since she started volunteering at the Humane Society of Stillwater.

But there was one dog, in particular, that she fell in love with.

So, she was pretty crushed when she found out that he was being adopted.

“It’s one of those things where you’re happy he’s going to have a home but you’re sad that you’re not going to be able to give that to him,” Hallee said.

But things quickly turned around when she realized who the dog’s new adopted parents were.

It was her own parents. They wanted to surprise Hallee with a new dog for Christmas.

Hallee had wanted a dog for a long time.

But since she was a student at Oklahoma State University, her parents wanted her to wait to get a dog until after college.

So, she started to volunteer at the shelter so that she could be around dogs even though she couldn’t have one of her own.

But now she didn’t have to pretend.

She was officially a dog owner now that a Plott Hound mix named Rambo was her dog.

Before her parents adopted Rambo, Hallee would visit him on a daily basis.

“He was quiet. A lot of the dogs would bark but he just sits there …He is a ginormous cuddler. He thinks he’s a giant lap dog.”

Hallee loved Rambo so much that she would share pictures o him with her family and friends.

The connection that Hallee and Rambo had eventually won Hallee’s mom Jessica over.

“I just knew he belonged here. I’ve said ‘No’ long enough. I think he belongs in our family,” she said.

They surprised Hallee with Rambo, who was waiting outside her house wearing reindeer antlers.

Hallee was overwhelmed with emotion and cried happy tears.

She was actually pretty hysterical. But in the best way. She just hugged him and cried.

Rambo immediately ran toward his new mom when he spotted Hallee.

She went from being completely heartbroken and disappointed to being filled with joy.

A video was taken of Hallee reacting to her surprise, which was viewed more than 13 million times on her dad’s YouTube page.

“Just by the reaction of the girl and her brother tells me those parents are remarkably warm folks. You hit a grand slam on that, dad,” wrote on commenter.

“Her genuine reaction made me choke up a bit. I can tell that dog is going to be well taken care of and her best friend for the rest of it’s life. The dog immediately knew who she was and you could see it recognized her and was like it had been her dog forever and they were just reunited,” said another.

Now Hallee and Rambo couldn’t be happier together. He actually brings joy to her whole family.
