Katelyn “Kt” Simpson is the beloved owner of Blake, her Goldendoodle who’s slowly turning into a bowling protégé!

They started teaching him when he was just 12-weeks old.

Kately is in charge of the dog’s bowling practices; she’s a professional bowler after all. She was a member of the bowling team at Pikeville University in Kentucky, made the USA Junior National team in 2015, and now she’s a pro in the Professional Women’s Bowling Association.

Having a good teacher beside him, it didn’t take him long to fall in love with the sport.

“I think his high game is, like, a 93,” Katelyn told KBOI. “He gets strikes every once in awhile, pretty good spare shooter.”

Not too shabby for a hyper Goldendoodle like Blake.

So then, how did the idea of teaching him to bowl come about?

Well, Blake’s family owns the bowling center, KT’s Lanes in Emmett, Idaho.

Since it was clear Blake insisted on coming to work with his family, they decided to teach Blake how to bowl with the best of them.

To do this, they put the bowling ball on a ramp (high enough for Blake to reach) and then hold a treat just on top of the ball, so he gets to push the ball once he reaches for it.

“So, we just put the ball on top of the ramp and we held a treat, like, above the ball,” Katelyn said. “We’re like, come on, you know, kind of helped him, showed him a couple times, just pushed the ball with his arms and he caught on and just started doing it on his own.”

This kind of training worked well for Blake. With just a bit of patience and regular practice, he eventually became the “bowling dog” of Simpson’s family.

In fact, they made him his own Instagram account named blakethebowlingdoodle with an eye-popping 9,457 followers. His account shows his journey as a family dog and as a bowling dog.

Surprisingly, Blake is not the only bowling dog of the family.

When they took in Adam as a new pooch into their family, they decided to do the same with him. They trained the newcomer to become a new star in their bowling center, and he did.

They also created an Instagram account for him named adamthebowlingdoodle, which already has a whopping 1,146 followers.

His account shows his own adventures and also some snaps with his big brother, Blake.

Who would’ve thought that dogs could also possess the same sports prowess and athleticism as some humans?

It’s not very common to see bowling dogs, after all. Wouldn’t you agree?
