Cats and dogs are natural opposites. Cats are content with solitude while dogs crave for external affection. Felines love the indoors while dogs feel restless when locked inside all day.

Many think they cannot co-exist under the same roof. People pit them against each other in real and reel life. Thus, many elements can ensure that these two do not mingle peacefully.

There are, however, many stories that prove that they can co-exist.

One in particular is captured in a video montage that has been viewed over 2 million times. It shows a fresh feline mommy completely trusting a Golden Retriever with her newborns.

There is no need to protect the kittens from this dog.

New cat moms are always protective. Normally, they do not allow anyone to come near their litter. But, in this case, the mom totally trusts her friend, the Golden Retriever. They have such a good relationship that she even allows the dog to share the same space with them.

They both make sure the kittens feel loved.

The dog’s affection for the family is captured many times in the video. For example, at one point, as the mommy cat licks her kittens, one of the little ones is pushed away. Instinctively, the dog sniffs her to comfort her. She then gently pushes the newborn nearer to her mom.

The brand new kittens are so young that they cannot even open their eyes. Yet, there is complete peace among the ginger cat, the Golden Retriever and the litter of five. The babies know that they can rely on both adults watching over them.

The kittens grow up loving this Golden Retriever.

As the newborns grow up, their relationship with their pedigree pal strengthens. They are content to be left under her care. They love her so much that they love snuggling with her. Together, they create many picture-perfect moments.

The Golden Retriever is also daddy cat’s best friend.

The kittens’ dad also likes our pedigreed pal. He likes to hang around with his children, his wife and their dog buddy. He is content in his little corner as everyone around him continues to play about.

Together they make a cute version of a modern pet family.

It is very endearing how they all co-exist affectionately. All the expected in-fighting do not occur. They treat and love each other as family.

The kittens bloom at all the love given them.

These kittens are surely cutie pies. For instance, their features are a mix of their golden-haired mom and their grey-furred dad. However, beyond the physical, what stands out is how happy they are. It appears that there is nothing better than the love given to them by their parents and their shaggy nanny.
