Cats and dogs have this eternal rivalry going on even though it’s not entirely accurate. A lot of these fur babies get along, and even if their hoomans buy them separate beds, sometimes antics like this one happen.

Cats love taking up the weirdest places and spaces even if it’s not exactly meant for them. And it’s downright funny.

Figo Pet Insurance does provide good insight.

“We admit sometimes cats can be jerks and sometimes dogs are just big babies. Cats like to be cozy, typically inside a box or small spaces. Other times, they seemingly want to show the dogs of the house who is really the leader of the pack,” their website writes. “The dogs are either too polite, scared of confrontation, or too tired to put a fight. Probably all three.”

The adorable thing with dogs is that they will always run to their humans to report their problem. This Golden Retriever named Bailey made his way into the living room wanting to nap in his personal bed.

It looks super comfy too!

Until he sees the cat on it. Bailey is annoyed.

He circles the bed, barking in distress, but the cat could care less about the dog.

Bailey looks up at his human but realizing there’s no help coming, he decides to try something else.

He nuzzles his head under the bed and flips half the bed over!

And the cat? It meows as if bored with the dog’s efforts. Poor Bailey exerting so much energy for nothing. That darned cat!

It’s obvious now that this good boy has take more extreme measures so he decides to try and drag the bed away with his mouth. Doesn’t matter if the cat’s on it or not!

Bailey looks defeated and it even seems like he’s about to throw in the towel or raise a white flag. Or a golden one.

The poor dog decides to take a breather, laying down beside the bed, his bed, panting his adorable face out while resting so he can think of a new plan. Cat-titude and all!

That’s when he comes up with another idea. Bailey slowly sets himself onto the bed.

What’s surprising about the situation is that the cat seems perfectly fine with it. Bailey won’t have it though. He wants his bed back so he barks at the relaxed kitty attempting to knock her off again.

Bailey receives a very annoyed hiss from the cat. That’s a very cold warning!

And as if a truce was negotiated, the golden boy ends up halfway on the bed.

Better than nothing?

This does have a happy ending though. The invading, hostile cat soon discovers that the dog is an even better bed.

The once agitated retriever now seems cool with the cat laying on him. The fluffy duo cuddle together finding a way to share, even solving their problem together.
