Dog waits outside every day to give his mailman a hug
Aren’t Golden Retrievers the best? They’re just so sweet and loving.
This Golden goes by the name of Moose and he lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Moose REALLY loves his mailman.

While Moose’s sweet relationship with his mail carrier made him go viral, he was actually already pretty famous. In just 2 years, his sweet face and adorable antics have managed to garner him an Instagram following of over 26,000 fans!
Moose also likes to show off his family on social media, which includes two humans, a cat named Mosby, and now a human baby brother that’s he’s still getting used to.

Before the baby was born, the biggest drama in Moose’s life was the daily arrival of a new mailman. The two were immediately smitten with each other – and there’s one special – but sad – reason why.
Meghan Gruszynski, Moose’s owner, posted a video in late January showing us all just how real the bond is.
The two have a daily ritual of exchanging big hugs!
But first, Moose waits patiently him to come up the driveway.
Then, after making sure all is well by sniffing around his feet, Moose wags his tail wildly, knowing he’s got the right guy.
This smells like his mailman!
They have a short, playful moment before Moose goes in for the big greeting.
Some ear scratches and a few jumps are all signs that the big hug is coming.
And the very kind mailman is game for Moose’s affections.
The two gaze into each other’s eyes for a bit while the mailman undoubtedly gives Moose some kudos for being such a sweet, cute, good boy.
And Moose, of course, is lapping up the love.
Of course, their sweet moments can’t last too long because – while Moose doesn’t have a job to do – the mail carrier has quite a bit of work to get done.
But he says goodbye and gently sets Moose’s paws on the ground before heading back to his truck.
This was just one of the duo’s daily greetings. This now happens every day!
When Gruszynski saw her dog greeting the mailman, she knew she had to record it at least once.
“It was adorable,” she told The Dodo. “I loved how much he loved our boy and loved how much Moose loved saying hi to him.”
The mailman has even been “training” Moose not to jump as much, kneeling down on the ground to give his hugs and shoulder rubs so that the pup doesn’t develop any bad habits.
And besides being a dog-lover, there’s one very special reason the mailman has such patience with Moose.
“I’ve come to find out our mailman’s dog recently passed away,” Gruszynski said. “He loves how much love Moose gives him every time he is out on his route.”
Leave it to a Golden Retriever to help mend a broken heart.
Speaking of hearts, the two seriously melted some on Valentine’s Day this year when the mailman brought a special message to Moose’s Instagram fans in the form of some signs. (He also brought some treats for his good buddy!)
How sweet is THAT?!
While occasionally there is a substitute mailman that Moose will try to greet, his original friendship is signed, sealed, and delivered.
“He’s our mailman ’til he retires, so it should be fun watching their love,” Moose’s mom assured the world.
