Ahh, there aren’t a lot of things that are cuter in the world than dogs. With their adorable faces, puppy eyes, warm fur and loving personalities, it’s not hard to see why a dog is often called a man’s best friend.

Another trait that a lot of dogs show is being protective over the ones they love – whether it’s other four-footers or their human owners. They’ll just do anything they can to keep them safe.

They can even be overly protective sometimes, for better or worse, as this Golden retriever shows.

That’s something that Bailey’s owner can absolutely relate to.

Bailey the golden retriever is so protective of his owner that he doesn’t even let her own husband come near her!

In fact, Bailey’s hilarious antics have even made him quite the internet celebrity on YouTube thanks to a viral video.

In the footage, we see Bailey and mommy hanging out and cuddling in bed, but then mommy’s husband and Bailey’s dad enters the room and wants to join them.

Right away, Bailey immediately switches into a sort of guard dog and makes it absolutely clear that he’s a protective pooch.

When daddy tries to put his hand onto his wife’s foot – slowly – you can clearly tell that Bailey isn’t having any of that!

In fact, the adorable pooch then gently grabs mom’s foot and nibbles it, to ‘claim’ his property and mark it as protected. The golden retriever even lets out a few adorable barks directed towards dad. After all, it’s important that he gets the message.

Of course, dad wasn’t exactly keen on giving up either!

Bailey then re-positions himself and sits on top of mom. It’s the best way to keep her safe, and he does it all while giving dad a menacing glare.

Not even holding hands is deemed safe by the Golden retriever. If it was up to him – all and any contact that mommy should have is only with Bailey himself.

The four-footer then even managed to break the two apart by putting his head right through mommy’s arms!

He also threw in a couple of warning barks just to make sure no sneaky stuff happened anymore.

However, it looks like Bailey and daddy get along just fine. The man was even allowed to give the pooch a quick cuddling session – although it didn’t take long before he resumed protecting his mommy. It’s just too hilarious!

There’s not a single doubt that Bailey is one funny and unique dog, with an incredible love for mom. The way he protects her is just too cute.

The video has been seen almost two million times on YouTube!
