Golden Retriever totally steals the show during dad’s at-home weather report

For many years Paul Dellegatto has been the chief meteorologist for Fox 13 News.

Alongside his team of meteorologists, he prepares and presents the daily weather forecast.

The COVID-19 pandemic means that Mr. Dellegatto can’t commute to work.

However, the weather report is an essential part of local news, so the show must go on! So Mr. Dellegatto set up a report station in his home office and prepared to deliver the news from there.

In the beginning, this seemed great, but no one had any idea just how great it could be!

See, Dellegatto has a young golden retriever named Brody who just loves his dad! You can tell just how much he loves his goldens from the photo he keeps on-screen behind him during live broadcasts.

That photo actually happens to be a photo of his old Golden, Sparky who lived a great life before passing away a year ago.

Recently Dellegatto was in the middle of a live broadcast when his pup Brody made his way into the weather room.

Right of the bat, Brody’s entrance was hectic. He “whacked the computer with his head”, which made it impossible for his dad to display the weather maps he had prepared.

“The maps aren’t going to move because he just whacked the computer with his head,” Dellegatto explained as he called Brody into his lap to show viewers the culprit “So, let me just verbalize the forecast, okay?” he said

Brody appears quite confused when he doesn’t get the usual loving attention from his weatherman father.

Dellegatto tells him what he did “wasn’t very smart”, and Brody gives a cheeky look right at the camera as if he knew what he was up to.

By this point, Brody had totally stolen the show, but Mr. Dellegatto was still responsible for getting the weather forecast into the ears of his viewers!

He pressed on, but Brody just yawned. This dog has a sense of humor! Luckily for him, so does his dad.

“I didn’t mean to keep you up, buddy,” Dellegatto apologized to Brody, as he realized it was probably past bedtime for him and he was quite tired. “We’re going to eat after this” he promised, trying to remove the retriever from his lap so he could do his job more comfortably.

As Dellegatto prepared to wrap up and end the segment, Brody decided to find out who exactly was operating the camera…and his adorable face took up the whole frame!

Dellegatto again attempts to explain:

“Oh boy,” Dellegatto said, surprised. “He’s jumping up trying to find Craig outside the window. He likes Craig. So, Craig is hidden on the outside, he’s on the porch and he’s got a kind of a blanket up so the reflection doesn’t get into my room here, and now we can’t see Craig so he’s going crazy trying to find Craig behind the blanket,” he explained.

Thankfully the presenters in the home studio all seemed to appreciate this adorable interruption. They actually said it was amazing and possibly better than the usual news report!

Mr. Dellegatto remained professional, wrapped up and promised a return of the forecast later on, one that would include the visuals that Brody wiped out with his curious dog behavior.

The recording was uploaded to YouTube and has amassed over 1 million views within a week! People just can’t handle the pup’s hilarious, show-stopping act!
